This razor has a very smooth operation. I like the way it fits in my hand, and it cuts pretty well.

However, I had a huge problem with the attachment. In less than 6 months, the teeth of the plastic attachment started loosening. After the first tooth completely fell off, I contacted the company to find out how to order a new one. Unfortunately, the attachment alone cost $20! I decided that was too much given I paid just $30 for the entire razor. Now, 2 years after purchase, my attachment has lost another tooth and the remaining two are loose and almost ready to fall off. This is pretty poor quality. The only thing allowing me to continue using this razor is that my trimming needs do not require the teeth to be in place. Still, I doubt this will continue to work for me after the last tooth falls off.

Ordered this for my husband and we go through clippers often as he's in the military. While I myself haven't used these he commented to me that he likes this pair a lot. I love there's no clips just adjust to the length you want so no extra pieces to worry about. Really for the price this is a great pair of clippers.

I've now owned this trimmer for 2 years and have used it at least once a month since then. Excellent for hair trimming, very good for beard trimming. My beard is quite thick and coarse, so it takes multiple passes to trim appropriately, which was no problem for this trimmer. Very easy to clean and maintain, very versatile and compact. It's a little tricky trimming a mustache as the comb/guard is a little cumbersome, but nothing a fine-toothed comb and pair of slim scissors can't clean up.

My only complaint is that the plastic on the combs (specifically the 1-11 mm comb) is very brittle. I've always taken great care of this trimmer, I have it stored in its own box in my bathroom. However, the last time I used it (granted, after 2 years of use) the teeth of the comb fell off mid-trim. The trimmer itself is perfect, continues to hold a charge for at least 30 mins of constant use. But I really wish I could find a replacement guard for this trimmer as it's perfect for my trimming needs.

I highly recommend this trimmer to anyone looking for a versatile hair-cutting cover-all. Easily handles from 1-11 mm in 2 mm increments and 10-20 mm in 2 mm increments with 2 included guards.

This is a replacement for previously-owned similar beard trimmers made by Norelco. I rate this Old Spice brand trimmer as superior to the similar Norelco product, at least so far. I give it a rating of "4" because it lacks a bit of precision at shorter beard lengths. For example, the Norelco products I owned allowed me to choose by a "number of days" setting. By contrast, the Old Spice product settings are in millimeters, starting with "1", then moving up in 2-millimeter increments: 3, 5, 7, etc. It seems to me that I liked setting "3" on the Norelco, but can't get that same level of precision from the Old Spice product. I did a lot of research before buying this beard trimmer because I do not like the other brands that have half a dozen adapters taking up room in the drawer. These two appear to be the only brands where the user can turn a dial to set the length. However, my warranty experiences with Norelco were less than satisfying. Both the original and the warranty replacement unit had the same problem, causing the blade to suddenly stop and pinch my beard. Norelco seemed totally disinterested in solving their design flaw and refused to send me a second replacement product.

I love this trimmer. So much so that I just bought another, begrudgingly though, because of a pretty major design flaw. The damn adjustable comb is weak! The first one lasted a good 6 months or so, then one of the teeth broke off. I called Braun and they were great about sending out a replacement part, even though the actual combs aren't covered by their warranty. Only the trimmer itself is covered. So the new one came (took about 2 weeks) and all was well... Until the new one broke last night! Argggggg! So I just bought another one because this trimmer is THAT awesome. It's my favorite out of the many I have tried over the past 10 years or so. Everything from stubble to a pretty long-ish, thick beard. This things got it covered, and the charge lasts for a long time. Absolutely LOVE this trimmer, just wish the combs were more durable and not cheap plastic.
