Wish we had bought this sooner! Our daughter has been on twice a day daily meds since 3 weeks and we didn't invest in this until she was 5 months.... total problem solver! I wish they sold just the paci part in a multi pack because it has a bit of a hefty price tag and although we have plenty of syringes for med admin only having the one paci attachment that needs to be washed/sterilized multiple times a day is quite a hassle. But the product itself is amazing, I would recommend anyone with a newborn/infant have this on hand!
Makes giving daily meds easier than just syringing into baby's mouth

My baby girl has to take medication every day. It's been increasingly difficult to get her to take the meds without spitting them out as time as gone on, and no one loves wrestling their 3-month-old down to shove meds down her throat.

Our doctor had told us to try using a bottle nipple and syringing the meds into there. That worked great! If you want to save $15, just use a bottle nipple (without the bottle attached) and put medication into it as your baby is sucking on it!

But, eh, I wanted it to be a half of a step easier, so I spent the $15 on the Pacidose anyway. It is very slightly easier than the bottle nipple thing. The syringe slides into the pacifier so that liquid won't get lost if baby quickly turns her head or something like that. Once baby is sucking on the pacifier, you slowly syringe the meds into their mouth. The issue with this is that the provided syringe is a little jerky, so I find that I can't push the meds out of the syringe as smoothly as I'd like and I sometimes give her a bigger push than I meant to, which means that she might dribble some meds out of her mouth. It will fit over generic syringes though, so I will have to ask the pharmacy for extra syringes.

Lastly, because of the design, I do wonder how clean we actually get it when we wash it. The pacifier basically has a hole in it for the syringe to slide into, then it sort of narrows so that the baby is getting only a little spray of liquid at a time. There's not really a way that I've discovered to thoroughly wash the medication passageway.

Pros:
* Meds are a lot easier to give than our previous method of syringing into baby's mouth (caveat: only if your child takes a pacifier!)
* My husband and I always know if one of us has given our baby her meds because the Pacidose will be sitting by the sink, dirty, if it has been used.

Cons:
* Not sure how clean the pacidose is getting when we wash it due to design.
* The provided syringe isn't very smooth, so I feel like I jam too much at one time into my daughter's mouth.
* My daughter usually takes a Soothie pacifier and this is slightly differently shaped, so she is a little baffled by it.
Every parents should add this to their baby registry!

My son loves his pacifier, but all of a sudden decided that he didn't like us squirting medicine in his mouth. Enter Pacidose!! I knew that he would need to be taking medicine rather frequently with an incoming surgery and so the pacidose arrived a few days before. It works so perfectly and is such a clever idea. You simply squirt up the medicine in the dropper (the one that came with the liquid medicine works too) and just insert it into the paci tip and my little guy sucked it right down. I didn't even have to squeeze it in. It helps too if they're in a sucking mood or a bit hungry. Thank you so much for making this!! It as been a lifesaver and has made giving our little guy his medicine 100% mess free and so much easier (and happier all around!!) Every parents should get one. I am not sure why hospitals don't have these--they rock!!
we found Nexium to work the best at controlling it

If you have to give medicine to an infant, this is a lifesaver! I wish I had discovered it 3 months ago. My newborn had severe acid reflux, and after trial and error, we found Nexium to work the best at controlling it. I have to administer 1 ml of medicine to her each day (and have had to administer as much as 2 mls at a time!). It is extremely difficult to do this without wasting medicine all down their chin. I was always scooping medicine back up and trying to get it back in her mouth.

In my sleepless stupor, I was thinking about cutting a hole in a pacifier and figured that someone HAD to have thought of this before. I did a quick search on Amazon and found this! What I love about it, is that there is no medicine wasted. You push all of the medicine out through the dropper and through a small tube in the pacifier. It works like a charm and not a single drop wasted at all! My daughter is now almost 4 months old and I no longer dread giving her meds.
Life Saver

This product was a life saver. Our newborn has acid reflux, and so we were prescribed oral medication to treat him with. However, he hated it. It actually upset him to the point that he almost bucked himself out of his bassinet at only 6 weeks old.

After doing some research, I found this product online. As we were uncertain at the time whether it was the bitter taste of the medicine or the invasive process of putting an applicator in his mouth that upset him, we were hesitant to spend the $15 for the Pacidose.

In the end, we took the plunge (pun intended). Let me say that the product not only worked but that it completely took all of the stress out of giving him his medicine. He even seems to enjoy it now (so it turned out that it wasn't the taste).

Many reviews here bash the Pacidose, stating that the applicator measurement marks came off right away. This did also happen to us, though we've been using ours for a month and a half and still have up to the 3ml mark. The important thing to know here is that the applicator can be replaced by ANY applicator. They give us a new one at Walgreens every time we fill his order, so we have numerous backups now. In the end, the "problem" wasn't a problem for us at all.
