A Convenient Travel Syringe
NoMan•May 5, 2016
Pros: These syringe units are popular in Asia due to their compact size and low cost. As far as convenience goes you can stick the suction end into a hotel sink with warm water and while standing insert the nozzle end and start squeezing. You can easily control the amount of water injected and stop as soon as you start to feel full or get cramps. Check valves prevent any back flow. The smaller nozzle is actually for adults and is inserted along with a few inches of the smooth hose. The bulge helps it to stay in place. The unit is easy to clean with soap and water when you are finished. Does not have to be continually refilled like bulb syringes and does not require a lot of setup like a bag syringe.
Cons: Both nozzles on the item I received had sharp plastic burrs on them. I had to sand them down with fine sand paper and then run them against a buffing wheel to polish the edges. A nail file or emery stick would also work in a pinch. I also found both hoses to be rather short. a Few more inches would have been helpful.
For occasional relief from constipation while traveling this unit is fine, provided you sand/polish the nozzles before the first use.
