I have owned this item for over a month now and I am disappointed. It is already falling apart. The rods fall out of place so that all my clothing slides to the floor (this has already happened twice). It is slowly leaning away from the wall and unstable. The construction is cheap. The rods disconnect and it can't hold its shape. It poses a safety risk for small children so I would definitely not put this in a children's room or even in a house with children. It's just not worth it. I am replacing it with a different solution. I am sick of having things on the top shelf fall off and onto my head and I am sick of picking up all my shirts and hanging them up again after re-assembling the unit.

For lightweight laundry use, this rack is fine and easy to use. I purchased 3 of these to use in a studio apartment as my closet. I live where it's quite cold in the winter so I do have some heavy outerwear like wool coats etc. For sweaters, jeans, blazers, dress pants, shirts these racks just collapsed under the weight. I tried redistributing weight to even it out and that did not work either. The only way these racks worked for me was to only use them for about 1/2 of my clothing and NO shoes or things like blankets etc. Eventually one rack began to lean and fell apart one night at 3:00am!! Another sort of folded in the middle. The third one kept coming apart. It may be that if the pieces are all glued it helps distribute weight evenly. I eventually ended up with everything in a wrinkled heap on the floor. For very lightweight use, I'm sure they are fine -- but for regular everyday use as a real closet?? They are far too flimsy. I made the purchase for three because the reviews are good. I wish now I had only bought one-- Bottom line: DO NOT PURCHASE for regular 'closet' type use, they just are not strong enough!!!

I don't know what people expect for $30 but this is really a deal. The only problem is if you think that you can put this together without a rubber mallet, you are in real trouble. The pieces don't fit tightly unless you tap it with a rubber mallet trust me on this. Without it I would get so far, move it a little and it would just fall apart, with mallet it fit tight enough to move around. If you put in two hanging bars in it you will not be able to hang long pieces. If you have a long coat, then you don't need that second hanging bar. Other than that for the price it is really nice and stable IF YOU USE A RUBBER MALLET.

This is a great system if lacking closet space! It holds much more than expected and is quite sturdy. In the photo, it looks slightly lopsided, but it's only because there is a dip in the floor.

Very sturdy. No issues putting together. The directions say no tools but I suggest using a small hammer to securely insert the bars. Great for closet expansion.
