The "working" end of the keychain fits very comfortably in the hand for extended carry. The concept that this item is ready to work immediately reduces the chances of being a victim. We'll see how the TSA "views" the item in our airline carry-on, hopefully they won't tag it. Word of caution: be aware of your surroundings and caution friends to not sneak up on you (inflicting pain on a friendly might not be advisable).

I honestly think I bought this as much for the sugar skull design as for the self defense aspect. The design was as nice as I hoped: Not a sticker, but actually integrated into the plastic. It has a nice textured feel, kind of like a nail buffer. When I grip it at the top the point extends out about 3/4" from my fist, much like the photo. Based on that I'd say it's best used by people with smaller hands. Also it's extremely lightweight, which is surprising given its size. It seems durable, though:I have to put a lot of pressure on it to feel any give in the plastic. As to whether it's going to deter someone when you jab them with it, I guess it depends on the target. I sort of practiced on myself and can tell you that it definitely doesn't feel comfortable even with moderate pressure. Aiming at the face or neck of an attacker would probably be most effective. It also comes with a couple of extra keychains so that there's the option of whipping with your keys. Overall I'm satisfied and am considering getting the Dragon design as well.

Man this thing fit in my hand. I have a big hands easy to conceal. Also the picture doesn't doe thing justice. I hit my friend to see how this thing works of course lol with permission. He then hit me back on certain parts of my body. It hurts. Learn how to use it.

Hope I never have to use this! and can just keep it as a fun key chain, but I watched some videos and it can really damage pumpkins..

I like it. It's not THAT obvious it's a self defense tool, and the colors and patterns make it quite stylish. I also like the there rings attached to it, it makes it easier to take it out of the pants pocket quickly if needed (which I hope never happens)
