I read all these reviews and saw several compkain and Exclaim "It's Plastic" ! Come on People, Read the Product Description! Of Course it is Plastic! It says so!
This is a Wonderful Little Ocarina, but not that little! I have to buy Extra Large Gloves, I have Large hands, I do not have Any Problems playing this instrument! I think some people need to learn proper fingering technique!
It is quite comfortable to play and Yes has a nice airy sound and sounds very nice when the proper technique is applied! I am pleasantly surprised as I got this one for its hopeful indestructiblity so I don't have to worry about it breaking if I'm too active.

I got this mostly as a joke as my dnd character uses one, but I've found the sound pleasantly surprising, it doesn't have as much of a toy sound quality as I thought it would.

Trouble Hitting High Notes

Pretty good ocarina. Most of the notes are in tune, with one exception: to play a low C, I have to cover all of the holes, rather than leaving the two auxiliary holes open like you're supposed to. Other than that, it plays just fine. My only real issue with it is that the tone quality gets very airy when playing a high D or E.
That being said, I use it frequently. I bought this one because it's sturdier and smaller than the ceramic Alto C ocarina I have, so I feel more comfortable bringing it with me when I go places. I like to practice on my lunch breaks at work.
All in all, I would definitely recommend it for a beginner, or even as a practice instrument like I use it for. Just be aware that it's not "performance quality" per se.

I thought it was made of wood. It doesn't matter, though. I'm learning to play, but it helps me get relaxed. It fits nicely in my hands, i like that if I drop it, it won't break. It was a great value and it looks very expensive. The insert is not easy. I recommend utube lessons to hold it right.
