This "adhesive" is not as sticky as double sided Scotch Tape----it is useless.
Cheaper alternative for the $$$ factory replacement gasket

A total of 5 minutes of effort (if even that) beats paying $50 for the 54" replacement. Yes the adhesive is only down the center, but it doesn't matter. You simply fold the edges over, and hopefully your retaining brackets will apply enough pressure to keep a tight seal. I've got enough extra left over to make 2 more gaskets.
