Is this salt even real?!

***Edit: I just learned that this is sand. It's way past the return deadline, but contacting the company and asking for a refund.

Some of the granules do NOT taste like salt, they don't taste like anything and they do NOT dissolve. What does this mean? I'm not sure, but it's definitely weird. I was eating cucumber with lime and salt and I kept getting REALLY crunchy grains of salt until I caught one and inspected it close up. It didn't have a taste and it didn't dissolve... It was not acting like salt. Are these fillers? Was this a mistake? Foreign objects? I want a damn refund. Unacceptable. Y'all better go check your batches.
Has sand in it

Mine had sand in it too. Like another reviewer suggested, I dissolved some salt in warm water. Not all of it dissolved, however - the residue was sand. This product says "Not eligible for return" but when I called customer service they did issue me a refund - when there is sand in a food product, it is *defective* and therefore the "Not eligible for return" does not apply. I'm going back to Spice Labs, which is more expensive, but I've never had a problem with their products.
Great salt!!

This is the only salt we use now. I have usd pink Himalayan salt exclusively now for the past 3 years. This is a great tasting, quick shipping brand. You don't need as much pink Himalayan salt as regular salt, I've found. So be cautious & taste foods before salting as you would with reg salt. You'll probably need less pink Himalayan.
Seller needs to solve the grit/contaminant issue

The marketed idea of this salt makes sense, but I'm not a chemist and I have no lab -- Therefore, I cannot vouch for its mineral content. I found the taste good, but I can't say how much of that is psychological after all the marketing and the basic idea of the salt's origin, as stated.
What absolutely RUINS my experience with this salt is the excessive amount of insoluble grit in it. It's so bad, that after using this salt for cooking for a few weeks, it actually began to noticeably abrade the bottom of some of my pans, and began leaving deep scratches in a quality non-stick pan. You can actually feel the salt/contaminants grinding into your pans while stirring anything you're cooking with a wooden spoon or silicone tool. What's even WORSE, is when you bite into these gritty contaminants after they've failed to dissolve -- Don't get me started on things like deviled-eggs, where the salt (and all of its grit) are right there on top, ready to roughly crunch into your dental-work.
I really wanted to like this salt, even though I try to avoid the latest bandwagon/trends. However, due to the grit issue, I stopped using it and am saving it for the first icing-over of my driveway this coming winter.
In hindsight, I wish I'd bought a smaller package to try; Perhaps then, this poor purchase wouldn't have stung as much.
Quite possibly the best salt on the market

Quite possibly the best salt on the market. Since this salt has replaced all of my other salts (table, cooking, fermented vegetables), I have ordered dietary Iodine to replace what I may otherwise be missing in my diet. So far it has performed well and tastes great in my fermented vegetables as well as in my cooking and table salt additions. Thank you for a great product.
