This thing is huge and super strong! Didn't order it to hold papers though. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (big phone) and i don't like a lot of the car docks. They either obstruct my view in some way, involve magnets (bad for the S pen on this phone), have some long bendable thing that gets in my way, or simply don't work (sticky pads); so i like to build my own out of binder clips. You just clip them onto the air vent in your vehicle. This was perfect for my larger than normal device and could probably even be used to hold a tablet. The strength of this clip meant i didn't have to mod the clip part for more friction and bending the handles required a vise grip and my father meaning I'll never have to worry about it bending out of shape. For more info on this you can Google "diy car mount". In any case, love this thing and im sure if you're using it to hold papers none of them will get away.

your really have to see this clip to believe it, it is massive. I am actually using it to secure a end of a USB female cable to the top part of my laptop's docking station ... the largest ones that I could find fell short by about 1/2 inch or so in terms of how wide the JAWS of the clip would expand. This one tackled that thick docking station with about 1/4 inch to spare. I could not use mounting tape (even the permanent kind) because I was plugging a JLAB USB speaker (older model) and the clip had to be strong enough to support the speaker. The clip worked flossily for the purpose I purchased it for, very pleased. And have never seen a binder clip so large

I occasionally need my desk to be a foot wider, but a permanent extension would get in the way. So I use this clip to attach a piece of half-inch plywood to my desk. Perfection! Its a really strong clip, holds very well w/o slipping, and opens wide with ease because the long "handles" give me plenty of leverage.

I needed some sort of clip to hold a piece of heavy canvas material to a thin board temporarily while I worked on an art project. Yes, I probably could have used multiple binder clips, but they were sold in pack quantities which was not needed. For this product, I only had to buy one, and it was the perfect solution for me.
