These filter would work great for a 5 gallon or 2.5 gallon tank but 2 would be needed for a 10 gallon tank. I would not come close to recommending these for 10 gallon tank.

I use this for an inlet filter to my 40-GPH power head which is used for my sandbed filter. I replaced the stones with ceramic stones.
