So disappointed! I didn't want a plastic bird bath. The description reads: "The beauty of ceramic and the durability of fiber clay. made of 70% clay, 25% plastic, and 5% fiber." Don't be fooled by the description on this product. This is NOT true. The basin is 95% plastic and maybe 5% clay around the rim. Plus I received the product with visible chips in the "fiber clay" that show white underneath, so the clay isn't even through and through clay. It is some type of white molded material painted with a cheap grey-brown to look like clay. In my opinion, this isn't worth the $45 that I paid for it. I recommend that you purchase locally so you know what you are getting instead of this fake item.

First of all, I ordered this on Sunday, and it got here in Hawaii on Tuesday, 2 days later. Unheard of! I want to stick this to the top of a stone wall, and it will be perfect for that, as I did not want a stand. It is quite light and easy to handle, but large enough for our big cattle egrets. Hopefully they will prefer this to our deck, deck rail, deck furniture, and swimming pool! They had big parties on the deck when we were away, with lots of pooping.

DON'T LEAVE THIS OUT IN THE COLD! I bought this back in June so now I cant return it, even though the very FIRST time we got a cold snap, the bottom cracked and completely pulled away from the bowl - Now I have to trash this after only 5 months of use - I paid $55 for this thing!! The seller should know better - There were NO warnings or instructions to bring this inside from the cold! Plus, after only a few weeks the clear protective coating pulled off, leaving shreds of clear strips - I could live with that, but I cant use it now that it's cracked completely around the bottom. SHAME ON THIS SELLER!! DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!! Very disappointed that Amazon can't help me with this since it is an obvious seller fault and poor product.

I accidentally ordered two of these. One in green and one in brown. The first one warped at the bottom during winter and would no longer hold water. The second one barely lasted this summer/fall season. The coating inside came off in pieces, which cannot be healthy for the birds. It is now sun faded and awful.

So far this is an excellent bird bath, and attracts both smaller and larger birds. I put some river stones in to vary the depth and give the birds places to bath should they desire.
