I used one for over a dozen years. It alerted me at the start of the water heater leaking and stopped the water flow. It kept working with the new water heater, but something seemed wrong- maybe the sensor or a wire- and I bought this model to replace it and have not had any problems.

This is a great device it can save you from a very expensive headache . It was easy to install and I'm thinking of getting one for the main water supply rather than haveing an indoor pool someday.

I have 2 of these in place and this was another. They work well and on 2 occasions have prevented tank overflow. My plumber does the installation. He actually came early and the product had not arrived. He had on on the truck and I ended up using that one.

I had a previous model that lasted some 5 years before the ball valve seized in a hard Colorado water condition. Still ~$150 for 5 years of service is a good deal - 4 stars for that. The newer model has more compact controller and looks nicer in the central home location by the thermostat. The compression 3/4 inch connectors work well with my main water line - I actually reused my previous unit rings and installed the new valve with them with no leaks. I have the sensors located below all 3 critical appliances - washer, dishwasher and boiler - this gives me some peace of mind.
