WOW! I got this just in time yesterday to try it on my new york strip steaks heading into the sous vide. Since we had 2 packs going in we did a taste test. One steak with just salt, pepper, garlic....the other one with the added Umami. The difference was incredible. It brings that awesome beefy taste out. I will never make a steak without this for the rest of my life. Holy mackerel!....my friends will be beating down the doors to come to my next cookout!......(and if you haven'y figured it out yet....the Umami steak won.)
