This kit sat there and did nothing. Brew demon sent replacement yeast, but by the time I got it, I didn't want any more yeast in the mix, so I dumped it and just used WalMart juice. That ferments and came out perfect! The real dud came when 1 out of 2 of the beer kits that I ordered did the same thing. Sorry, but 2 failures out of 3 products is just too much to bear. Especially when the cheaper stuff brewed out more consistently. I suspect it is a cheap yeast that they include, but why take a chance?

Meh... is probably the word I'd use to describe this kit. It consists of a small can of apple juice concentrate that gets mixed with water, an off the shelf can of cherries, and a packet of yeast. Precisely following the recipe w/ a BrewDemon canonical brewer resulted in mediocre weak cider. For $24 you can do MUCH better getting some freshly pressed store bought no preservative apple juice, a packet of wine or cider yeast, and some yeast nutrient. It'll cost way less and you'll end up with much results.

This is a pretty good "base" product for making apple hooch [cider]. Brew Demon even recommends adding the Oregon fruits. Personally; I add my favorite Dutch apple tart filling. I use dextrose instead of table sugar and use S-04 yeast instead of what is provided. Great Stuff!!! ABV about 8%.
Back again: As I said before this is a really great base product, I tried something very simple and it turned out awesome. Very simple: this can of concentrate, one pound of dark brown sugar, and a culture made from EC 1118. Go ahead and make three gallons at 70 deg. After eight days I had a very tasty cider at 6.6 ABV still. Then two weeks after bottling and primed I had a very fizzy great tasting hooch at just at 8 ABV....Great Stuff!!!
