Works well if your dog is the size of a horse

As a Great Pyrenees mom (& 3 full-time cats & usually a few foster kittens), this was the only was to go. He's basically like watering a horse inside the house. Also, if you have a dog that picks up of flips his bowl, this is a solution. The rating goes down when it comes to "easy to clean" and "easy to use. It is really awesome it has a drain plug, but they could tweek the design, and a full cleaning of bucket may also be annoying. And, actually, I do think it is easy to use; however, those O-rings & seals between pieces were rather annoying to set up, and I imagine I will hate changing them during maintenance. They certainly could have made it so the O-rings fit their location a bit better. I also have a congo African Grey parrot just to add to the insanity of my misfit menagerie.
My new favorite watering container! Works for little dogs too!

I love this watering container. I had been looking at this for months prior to buying it. I just couldn't justify the cost until I realized how much I would be spending to replace my 2 gravity water dishes. It would cost me just a little more. This is on wheels and opens at the top, just remember to turn off the valve or you will have water everywhere. It is easy to clean. Just pop out the plug and drain the water in the dish and wipe it out. This is a heavy duty bucket. We use the same style bucket for our compost pickup service that includes a ratchet lock on the lid which makes it animal proof. I know it will last long because a bear has gotten into the compost bucket and dented it but did not break it and the dent popped out but is wasn't easy.
The best thing about this watering container is the customer service. It came very well packaged. Tightly packed with tightly pack newspaper rather than plastic or styrofoam. I recycled the newspaper. The base was broken at where one of the wheels attaches. It could have been glued back together but not sure how stable it would have been. I emailed the company to get advice and they immediately replied, apologized and mailed out a replacement part. I will probably still try to fix the broken one.
Also I did not realize that they include several replacement gaskets for the lid. This is amazing! Most companies this is where they get you is replacing these little things. I plan on buying a 3.5 gallon container for use outside in the future.

Great concept but flaws in design

I love the concept but the rubber rings kept shifting and it leaked, even after following video instructions. Seller was VERY accommodating and gracious and sent me new parts, which I really appreciated but it still leaked because the rounded rings constantly shifted. My husband had to make flat o-rings to replace the rubber ones because it would not stop leaking, even with new parts I received. I wish the water bowl was removable because it's hard to keep (it) clean with crevices that hold dirt. Other than that, it's a great product. We use the larger container for 2 small and 2 large dogs and it lasts a week, which is fantastic!
May be suitable for you but not me

Customer service was outstanding (which is why the ranking isn't lower). And the product would be suitable for most people's dogs. However, I have a 100 lbs blood hound who not only drinks a ton of water but her water bowl needs cleaned out multiple times a day because her saggy lips and ears trap all her food and releases it into her water bowl when she goes to drink, leaving her water bowl absolutely disgusting near constantly. I thought this handy device may make it so that I don't have to clean her bowl as often or, at the very least, it'd be easier to clean. While it's nice that I don't have to refill the tank constantly (it holds quite a bit...usually lasts a few days), I still have to go in and drain, wipe down, and refill the water dish part of the tank at least once a day. I wish so much that there was a way to take the water dish part off to rinse it and then reconnect it. But alas. I may have to just come up with my own invention for people who have this problem because I have yet to find a product that makes it easier than cleaning and refilling constantly.

You really need to learn how to seal this bucket in order for it to work. I recommend putting coconut oil in the rim of the bucket so it helps seal. I really love this product, it has helped my back so much . My 11 dog pack is happy too.
