Finally, a "normal" phone headset for old-school "unplugged" phones, no special plugs needed!
Clothes Monkey✓ Verified Purchase•August 2, 2023
This headset is great because it fits a regular, low tech, landline phone. I'd been looking for a headset I could use with my old landline telephone I bought around 1990. The phone doesn't have a headset jack but it works fine, so I didn't want to buy a new phone. I finally found this headset which doesn't need a special connector. Most headsets need a 2.5 or 3.5 built-in connector on your phone, and the converters available appears to be only for certain brands of phone. This headset uses a standard old-fashioned handset cord (technically known as Rj9/RJ10/RJ22 or 4P4C, but you probably know it as the curly cord that connects the handset to the base of your phone). The handset is the barbell-shaped piece that you pick up and hold to your ear. To use this headset, just remove the handset from your phone by unplugging the curly cord, and plug in this headset where the handset used to be: No special connectors are needed. This is a "basic" headset with no special features but for the price it is a very good deal. It comes in two pieces. A metal piece that curves over your head, to hold the earpiece in place, and the actual earpiece with cords attached. The metal piece snaps onto a plastic peg on the earpiece (again, with no special connectors needed, just snap it into place). If you are looking for a headset for a "normal" old phone without a headset jack, this one may work for you.
P.S. - I wrote this review for using the headset with my old Sony home phone, circa 1990. I tried the headset on my Avaya work phone after I had 2 separate Plantronics headsets stop working; it doesn't work on the Avaya because you can hear fine but not talk (the other person can't hear you). I am still using the headset with my home phone and like it very well for that purpose.
P.P.S. - It has been brought to my attention that this headset is for old-school, "unplugged," unamplified phones. (That is the kind of phone I have, so all is well.)

Headset band can't be adjusted down. I have a fairly big head and most headsets I have to adjust out. However, seems this one was molded for a BIG head, and it's loose on mine with no way to adjust down. Noise cancelling leaves a bit to be desired, and no volume control. The sound quality is good though.
Overall great

I work at a call center at my job which is a fairly new position since the business grew pretty rapidly. I spent about eight hours on the phone sometimes 10 hours and after all day my ear does get a little sore, but over all these are really great . I think my only real complaint is that I can't hear myself talking to the patients like you would be able to on a regular handheld phone .
A Good Basic Headset For Office Phones
Joe Winn✓ Verified Purchase•July 11, 2023
I recently procured an office phone for business use, and, not having a way to use it hands-free (speakerphone isn't great quality), I purchased this headset. It connects via the mini phone line plug, not 3.5mm or USB. As a high-tech person using an admittedly low-tech device, here are my thoughts:
Build: It's a headset with one ear. While it doesn't feel expensive, it also doesn't feel exceedingly cheap. The wire flexes, but not to where you think it will snap. The connectors seem secure. Rotating the microphone boom is smooth (and it goes all the way around so you can use it on either ear). The cord has full spring in the coiled area, and it does add a bit of microphonics when disturbed (you can hear the rustling of the cord in the earpiece). This is resolved by attaching the shirt clip to something (which stops you from hearing any of that ruffling from below that point).
Performance: I can hear callers perfectly. The sound is crisp and clear, allowing for substantial volume. The microphone is what deducts a star. Callers said I sounded good, but not great. They understood what I was saying, but they did say there was a little "garbleness" to it. Not bad, ie. better than speakerphone, but not as good as the handset. Other reviews said callers couldn't hear them at all. I haven't had that issue, but will update if it happens.
Comfort: I've never worn a mono headset before, so this might be normal. The non-earpiece side has a padded bar which hugs the side of your head. This isn't the most comfortable thing, but I'm not sure how it could be any better. The wire band leaves a nice depression in my hair, but again, expected. I have headphones which are far more comfortable, but this isn't bad. I have gone through a number of conference calls 1+ hours long and not felt the need to remove and adjust it. Which, by the way, it has none. There are no adjustments. It's just how it is.
Conclusions: For the price, it's a great value for a basic office headset. If you want more comfort, wireless convenience, ability to control volume, mute, picking up from the device, then you need something more comprehensive.

I bought several of these for my office because we recently bought new ShoreTel phones which have a port for a headset. They work very well despite being so inexpensive. The sound quality is good and is comparable to the handset that comes with the phone. The design is basic, and the materials are probably the cheapest available, but that also makes them very light weight. The cord is long enough to use in standard desk layouts, which the phone on the corner of a desk. The ear pad is a synthetic material but is very soft and dosen't seem to cause ear lobe fatigue prematurely. Of the dozen or so I ordered, I believe we have only had one failure, which was a user error, not a material or craftsmanship error. The user closed a metal desk drawer on a cable and cut it. Perhaps the best testimony for the value of these headsets is that we placed a second order.
