Just wow.
I was looking for a monopod that's sturdy, dependable, and configurable. I got this one. Just reading reviews, I underestimated how good it really is. It's got so many adjustments, it can do everything I need it to do. One of my favorite features is the pivot thing that it does. You loosen the lock at the bottom, and you can change it's angle while keeping all three of its feet on the ground. If you loosen the locking collar at the top, you can pan without having to rotate the entire monopod. If you need to toss it into your luggage, it comes apart--the feet assembly unscrews from the rest of the monopod. It comes with a nylon carry case that's long enough to carry the monopod even when my video head is attached.
I use a Benro S6 fluid head, a Nikon D5600 with battery grip, and a 70-300mm zoom lens, (translation: heavy rig) and this thing supports it all like a champ.
When I shoot, I press down to minimize shake--and this monopod doesn't budge.
If I had to get really picky, I'd say I don't prefer the twist locks--I like the open/close lock latches my tripod has. But that's just my preference. The twist locks work just fine, and have rubbery grippy material on them, which makes them easily twistable.
If you're looking for a great monopod made out of high quality materials and lots of adjustable bits--I highly recommend this Sirui monopod.

Received this today and upon inspection it is a very well built monopod. It is compact light and will work well on my photo / video shoots. I like that you can use it as a high hat and can still use it as a monopod second. I will be buying a zomi
Fluid head for it in the future to give it even more dimension for videos... the bag that came with it is great and very durable for on the go.
If you are on the fence, just take the plunge and buy it and enjoy the great results that you will have.
I will have more info about it in a few weeks of using it... my friends have it and love it !!!!

Absolutely awful- despite great reviews!

Bought this based on the high praise, 1 day after it arrived I tried to screw on the base legs (from regular monopod mode) and the round screw thread area was all bent and would not screw on at all. After trying for 10 mins or so, now the monopod screw threads are stripping and it's basically useless. I leave for vacation on Friday- bummed now that I can't take my monopod with me! :-(
I love it!

This has been my most used camera stand since the day I've owned it. It is lighting fast, sturdy, and beefy. I can actually leave my camera standing on this monopod because it has wider legs than most other monopods. It adjusts so fast; it's one of my favorite things about this product. It's really easy to pack and travel with as well. We all know how old it can get to lug around a giant tripod everywhere. This thing right here is the answer!
Highly recommended.

I have several monopods but this is my favorite. I like using it without the foot and with the metal spike when I'm walking but the foot helps to steady it. I carry it mostly without the foot because it is lighter. I opted for the aluminum one because it wasn't that much heavier and about $100 cheaper. Now I believe that I should have sprung for the carbon fiber. I have a good quality carbon fiber Manfrotto monopod but I have trouble keeping it steady. I also love the fact that you can loosen the top and with my Desmond DMH-2 tilt head (also recommended) it pretty much becomes a highly portable Gimble. Great for birding and bugging
