The material is somewhat hard to work with because the fibers are so long. Also, there are many dense clumps which are not usable for mounting plants. I have switched from long fiber sphagnum to coconut fiber and will use this in spite of the two problems.

This is a little harder to work with than sphagnum moss for wire baskets, however it works very well and is a replenishable resource, which makes the little bit of extra effort worth it.
