the bulbs worked just fine They were used in a ceiling fan night light which I could not get in my area. The only problem that I thought that was not the exact same was the socket. It did not seem to click into the receiving socket like the original.

Replaced Coleman HS/S15W/6500k bulb with minor tweak

Was able to replace the original Coleman lantern bulb (5317-1001/HS/S15W/6500k) in my model 5312 series vintage style, 8D cell CFL lantern with a minor tweak. Bulb fit socket perfectly but required me to add a small spacer between the square bottom of this bulb and the lantern slot base where there is a spring switch that needs to be depressed to send current to the bulb. The original bulb is about 1/4 in longer in the square part of the base to do this without the need for a spacer. I used a small piece of 1/2 pex pipe cut to function as a spacer spring, but you could probably use anything non conductive. Works perfectly and the light is a lot warmer 2700k than the original bright cool white bulb at 6500k. I like the warm light much better and I haven't noticed a significant difference in brightness. A much nicer, less harsh, warm light for the inside of a tent in my opinion. Will purchase another as a spare.

These bulbs are a great value. I can't attest to longevity. I bought them as replacements but it turns out my camping lantern was defective. Coleman wanted $$$ for the same bulb. Amazon is a great place to find odd bulbs and batteries.
