You need to pay attention to who the seller is - the card was either fake or defective.

You need to pay attention to who the seller is; I ordered one thinking it was shipped/sold by Amazon. When I used it in a Canon 5D Mk IV the write speed was terrible - I could take no more than 7 shots in a burst and then the camera access lamp would stay lit for 10-15 MINUTES; this is the camera writing the files to the card. When the access lamp is lit you cannot shoot any more pictures, so the card was literally disabling the camera.

I asked a few questions at photography-on-the-net and people told me they suspected a bad card, or a fake card. So I ordered a Sandisk CF and the speed was incredible - 30 shots in 5 seconds and the write-time (access lamp on) is 4-5 SECONDS.

When I looked at my order details for the Lexar CF, it shows "Schwarte Jillian Schwarte" as the seller.

So a geniune Lexar CF may perform just fine, but in my case the card purchased from Schwarte Jillian Schwarte was either fake or defective.
Brand new card and failed while full of images from a wedding I had just shot.

I have never had a card fail on me but this one did. I typically try to only purchase cards in smaller GB, no larger than 8 for this exact reason but at the time of purchase, I couldn't find anything smaller. If I fill up a card while shooting a wedding and it happens to fail on me, I don't want to lose a huge amount of pictures. I purchased this card about a week before shooting a wedding. Tested it out. Uploaded all images. Formatted. Etc. The card worked just fine. Shot a good majority of a wedding that weekend with this card. Once I was home, I started to upload all of the images. All of my older cards uploaded without any issues. This card (Which was much faster, newer and larger than my other cards) wouldn't even connect to my computer or card reader. I put the card back into my cameras and it wasn't readable on either camera. Purchased a new card reader and it was still undetectable. Purchased data recovery software but my computer couldn't even scan the device with the card because it couldn't recognize the device. Long story short - I had to send the card in to a full date recovery service to have the data manually extracted from the card. Had to pay plenty of money to recover the images. Luckily, they were able to recover it and I also learned an important lesson through all of this - shoot with double cards to always have a back up of my images! But I would never buy this card again. I generally like Lexar Pro and specifically went out of my to purchase this brand again. I'm not sure if it's because it was a larger card (even if that's the issue, it should not fail like that!) or if there was another cause. I've never had this happen to me before. I'm not ready to completely walk away from Lexar Pro because overall, they've made decent cards and I've never had one fail on me before but I'll for sure be weary of purchasing this card or larger cards like this again. Do not buy.
A professional's choice . . .

As a photojournalist in Houston, I've used Lexar Professional CF cards for many years. In 2009 I bought Lexar Professional 300x CF cards and in 2013 I bought Lexar Professional 1000x UDMA 7 cards. With my most recent camera upgrades I upgraded to these Lexar Professional 1066x UDMA 7 CF cards. These 1066x cards have been around for a long time time and appear well-established and reliable.

I've shot thousands of editorial assignments, hundreds of thousands of frames, sometimes under difficult circumstances, and I have never lost or corrupted a single image using Lexar CF cards. I have nothing against the SanDisk Extreme Pro cards, in fact my SD cards are SanDisk, but I've got an almost religious attachment to a product with a perfect track record.

So, five stars. If I ever have a problem, you can be sure I will update this review!
Poor quality and customer service

I wish I never had to leave bad reviews but I got really disappointed with Lexar's quality control as well as customer service.

As a freelance photographer, I was planning to start using CF cards in addition to SD cards so I decide to get the Lexar 32 GB CF card from Amazon. I put the CF card into my Canon 5D Mark III CF card slot, and guess what, an error message showed up after I turned on the camera. So I took the CF card out and surprisingly found that one pin inside my 5D's CF card slot was bent (see pic). I checked the CF card and noticed one of the 50 holes seemed smaller than the others.

So I sent an email to Lexar, talked to at least 3 representatives but still couldn't get in touch with a supervisor/manager. The only response I got was to send the CF card to them for inspection and they will decide whether or not to give me a new card, and they will not take any responsibilities for the bent pin. Now I have to spend several hundreds out of pocket to fix the CF card slot that was damaged by a $30 defective CF card. Totally not worth it. If you are going to buy this CF card, please make sure to inspect the card carefully before inserting it to your camera. Make sure to return the defective card before it hurts your camera and your wallet.
GREAT CARD-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is an excellent CompactFlash card. I only use either Sandisk or Lexar since I am a professional photographer and I cannot trust my images to off-brand media. I first purchased one of these 1066x cards to test it out. The transfers were very fast and without any issues. I just purchased a two-pack of these cards as I really need more than one for my work. One tip...I prefer to use smaller cards such as this 32 instead of 64 or 128 mb cards. The reason is that in the unlikely event that a card fails, it will not have as many images on it as a larger card. But in my 47 years as a pro photographer, with perhaps 20 years shooting digital, I had only one card failure. That was early on, and most of the images were recoverable using software. In any event, I highly recommend these cards. One more thing...as with any memory, the prices vary almost daily. I picked up a two pack today because the cost was as low as I've seen it. Keep your eye on the prices and then be ready to purchase when the price drops.
