Amazon CustomerJune 23, 2017
I purchased the SA Sports Empire Beowulf after searching for crossbows and I have to say that I like it.ok the scopes not the best but the crossbow is nice.the bolts that came with it are ok and it wasn't hard to put together out of the box.i suggest putting some blue loctite on the screw's.ive been using 100 and 125 field tips to sight it in and practice shooting got it zeroed in at 40 yards it fast and accurate.i do like the 125 better.i will be deer hunting with it so I'll probably change the scope because it's not really good in low light i will be hunting in wooded area so that's why I will change the scope.if you just Target shoot it should just do you fine.i do recommend to purchase this crossbow.
This is an excellent bow for the price

This is an excellent bow for the price. The bolts it comes with completely suck, replace them asap. Assembly was fairly simple. I looked up a Youtube video for a simpler explanation. Make sure to loctite all screws when assembling! I had some to start coming loose after shooting for a while. I was shooting 2" groups at 50 yards after only 30 minutes of shooting! The scope isn't the best on the market, but it's more than good enough to get started.

this is a small crossbow that packs a wallop. it is also light and manuverable. however the scope needs help it is blurry and has a poor field of view i dont understand how you can get everything else right and forget about the scope i also dont like the way the the detachable quiver is mounted, putting the arrows in the face.
Great Crossbow, but BEWARE of the rope cocking device...
KyleAugust 20, 2016
I will lead with a BIG CAUTION in regards to the rope cocking device. My crossbow suffered a partial dry fire due to the rope cocking device FAILING mid stroke. Be sure to examine the knots that hold the handles of the rope cocker in place. Mine has no tail and subsequently lead to the knot pulling loose during my 4th attempt to cock the bow. The resulting partial dry fire was very discomforting but after thorough examination the xbow survived and no critical damage was noticed. Numerous bolts fired afterwards with no problems. I would strongly recommend examining and possibly retying and melting your knots on the rope cocking device to prevent this problem. Maybe something SA Sports should address (Have sent email with this concern already).

Aside from that I have fired about 40 bolts through this crossbow and it is outstanding for the money. Very accurate, good quality product, good quiver, ok bolts (recommend upgrading for hunting), and the optic is clear enough for most hunting conditions. Some may go for hire quality scope later, but for now it will be plenty effective during hunting season. Survived a partial dry fire, and even after that I would strongly recommend this crossbow. 5 out of 5 for the crossbow, but docked a star overall for the critical poor rope cocker.
Good Crossbow

I've never owned a crossbow before so I cannot compare ti to others, however I've been an avid bow hunter for 50 years, and bought one for the novelty of having one. Assembly of the crossbow was easy, I read the instructions and watched the video on line before starting. The flight rail was very rough out of the box. Fearing that it would cause premature wear of the string i took very fine sand paper and smoothed it out. I was intimidated when cocking the crossbow. It really creaks and groans during the process. I had no difficulty cocking it while on the ground but it may be difficult in a tree stand. My 15 year old grandson (5' 8" tall) was unable to cock the bow. While physically very strong he was not tall enough to put his leg muscles to work in doing so. I sighted the bow in at 45 yards. That was the greatest distance the upper cross hairs on the scope would allow. My family and I have shot about 30 arrows through it and all of us are shooting six inch patterns offhand at 75 yards. The bow is very powerful. I used to watch my arrows fly from my 70 pound compound bow. I have yet to see one of the crossbow bolts fly. They are just to quick.
