The best tasteing pure coconut water you can buy, the canned version is close, but the glass bottle is the best!

THIS is the brand! Taste Nirvana coconut water tastes vastly better than any of the many brands I've tried. I love coconut water but for most brands it's an acquired taste, it always tastes a bit odd. This one, howeverr, is like a dream of coconut water perfection. It is not made from concentrate; it has zero additives of any kind; it can be gotten in bottles which I prefer for unaltered taste; the company's young coconuts are sourced from sustainable farms; and it is entirely organic.

It is just pure natural coconut water, from YOUNG coconuts still to their sweet jelly phase before the coconut hardens on the inner shell. Most brands get the water from a riper harder coconut (almost as a byproduct to shaved white coconut). When not using young coconuts, the flavor tends to be "enhanced," meaning many companies add real or artificial sweeteners and other ingredients to spiff it up especially in the American market. If it's pure it's still from concentrate from mature coconuts, the water from which have a musty-edged flavor.

I've found no other brand that has Taste Nirvana's perfection, though I've not tested all the scores of brands available. Even other not-from-concentrate brands, from the Philippines or from South America, just not the equal of what young Thai coconuts provide. The method of pasturization probably impacts the flavor, and Taste Nirvana seems to be the only company that uses steam sterilization rather than heat and boiling, hence the truest fresh coconut flavor.

Coconut water is not too sweet for a diabetic, though it is certainly sweet. The Journal of Medicinal Food published a rat study in 2015 that showed coconut water had a positive impact on Type 2 diabetes. It reduced the blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin, along with improvement in plasma insulin level. It's not as yet proven to have the same beneficial impact on people as it does rats, but the odds are pretty good, and at the very least it's not unhealthy.

I've drunk coconut water since I was a teenager. It's taken four or five decades, but finally I don't have to go to an Asian specialty shop to get it. It is currently a veritable fad, with shelves and shelves of it in most local supermarkets, including many brands I never saw before. I can hardly believe it took me until old age to find this one which is everything I like about coconut water times ten.

Taste Nirvana is best from the glass bottle. I've created a "subscription" standing order for the cans only because they're more affordable for shipping, probably due to weight of glass upping the retail price to cover higher shipping cost, sad for me. The glass bottles from the supermarket are not as pricy as they are through the mail, but also not as reliably stocked.
Great Prebiotic Drink

Great prebiotic drink to have now and then. I always suggest 4 oz. a serving with ice, maybe instead of an ice tea.
