I had taken my 2012 Cadillac SRX to my local GM garage as the rear Power lift gate would open and then immediately start to close on me once it had opened to its full height. The GM garage gave me an estimate of $700 as they said I needed to replace the whole strut system. After reading review here, I purchased just the right strut for $29. I had someone pop the right (non-powered) strut and install the new one which literally took less than two minutes. The lift gate now works fine and saved me $671.00 !!!!! It would have been great if the garage would have attempted this first.

Fit great and just what I needed to keep from getting bonked in the head when trying to put away grocery items. Took my husband and I about 20-30 minutes to get it replaced because of the stiffness of cylinder and replacing the clamps. Fast shipping and quality product made in the USA. ðŸ‘ðŸ»

Installed this by myself..I'm a 45 year old female and work in a bank. No mechanical experience. I watched a youtube video, ordered the part, and when it arrived, I watched the you tube video again. So simple to install and works like a charm. Installed this on the non-power side of the lift gate on a Cadillac 2012 SRX. Proud of me!!!
