This product is exactly as described. It seems to be of good quality. I am just getting in to lamp building and decided to try this cord for my first project. We will see how it goes and I will update if needed.

I was looking for replacement cord that would be identical to the original cloth covered cord on a 40 year old Emerson fan. The product does work, however I would have preferred a cord that more closely resembled the original in construction and wire size. I found the individual wire hard to separate from the insulation, and felt that 16 gauge wire would have been better in two individual insulated wires covered in paper and cord shielding with the original cloth covering. Truly wanted the OEM (original equipment manufacturing) version. Am using the product as is.

extremely difficult to cut and splice, the cloth frays very easily and the inside copper element is extremely fragile, this stuff turned a fun project into a day of aggravation!

I bought this cord to use on a United Clock restoration. The antique cotton covering looks great. I can see why people use this cord for swag lamps because it is really durable. Under the cotton covering is a thick insulation which houses two 18 gauge stranded copper wires in their own color coded insulation.
