I use this mostly for cold drinks and it has helped me to avoid so many spills over the past two years! I needed this larger capacity rather than constantly refilling a smaller one. I bought this over two years ago - several - and the finish is fine on all of them, but I hand washed as recommended. It is easy to use when drinking through the opening - see the photo. At first I was drawn to drinking from the other side (for some reason I think I had seen traveling mugs with openings not used for drinking and I thought the sealing tab was like a straw). I would buy again.

It does have great insulation. It keeps coffee hot or ice coffee cold for hours at a time. I don't really machine wash mine and looks as new and very sturdy had mine for couple of years with no issues
