Have bought a couple of these in order to have the "timeshift" (pause) and recording capability when watching over-the-air programming.... (need to have your own USB external hard drive or thumb-drive for this to work). Wish the electronics would allow for connecting directly to a USB hub and/or PC, but not a big deal. Also like having the ability to see a TV guide with descriptions for OTA. The two concerns with this device are 1) the lack of IR strength for the remote --- direct line-of-sight only AND about a ten-foot range ONLY, and 2) there's a glitch with some stations where the box will just "HANG" and reboot if the signal is not strong enough to pull in. More an annoyance than anything. For the price, it's not bad.

Got the item in the mail. Had the tv setup and ready, HDMI cables ran, and then opened the package and the power supply was missing. Unable to use the item, since I could not power it on. Had to send it back

The remote control has an extremely weak signal. I was not able to find a compatible Universal Remote - this company is too insignificant to be included. I tried one work-around I saw on the internet but it did not work. Although I had USB 3.0 flash drives to record on, I frequently had a message pop up onscreen saying my drive was too slow (causing skips on playback) - usually when recording primetime shows broadcast in HD. Now my unit died. I bought it in October - this in February. Very disappointed.
