These chocolates melt easily in your mouth with none of that horrible, hard waxy texture in so many chips. I have not cooked with them..I am
just a nibbler.

These chips are delicious in chocolate chip oat cookies - much better than other dark chocolate chip cookies. They are hard for me to find in stores - so glad they are on Amazon.

I'm somewhat of a chocolate connoisseur. My go-to chocolate is dark chocolate, 85% cacao. Chocolate lovers know that's the hard stuff. Yes, I'm self-medicating with chocolate. I'm trying to kick the habit and these Guittard Baking Chips are part of my treatment plan. One chip can take the edge off if I'm trying to be good. But one is never enough. I range between 35 - 5 chips in any one sitting. But I have hope. These chips provide me with a bit of control. They are super wonderful and tasty. I highly recommend Guittard Baking Chips for baking, snacking, indulging, self-medicating and joie de vivre!

Although the package says "baking chips," they are not the same size as "baking chips" of other vendors (such as Ghirardelli). Flavor is okay; I've had better, I've had worse. These are not "extra dark" in flavor. The texture is nice, and they are creamy when melted. But the taste is more semi-sweet than dark chocolate. I also don't care for the vanilla notes. Although I love vanilla, when I want chocolate flavor I want a pure chocolate flavor. I much prefer the taste of Scharffen Berger's Dark Chocolate for baking--or even just plain eating right out of the bag.

Guittard is one of the chips I use for chocolate chip cookies and chocolate ganache. I love their milk chocolate chips, too. I eat a few of those instead of candy bars, much better quality and great to satisfy a sweet tooth.
