I purchased this french horn a coulple of months ago and I am very impressed. At the price i was scared about the quality, but it is close to what i used to play in school (over a decade ago). What is different about this horn, is that instead of using strings to open and close the rotaries, it uses rods. I hope the seller can post a picture of the back side to show this. If you're thinking "Strings?" then look up re-stringing a french horn. These have actually not caused any problems, in fact i think it is a better design.
The only problems i have had is that the valves can be a little binding when upon warmup. It seems that they are a little snug in the rotary housing but they probably need to be broken in a little.
The sound is amazing and the instrument is very solid built. I'm glad to be playing again after all these years.
