Perfect solution for cheap plastic spigot that came with container.
Randygk78August 18, 2017
We're the type of people that like to hanve firends over to enjoy our pool and have a few drinks. We've always provided water bottles, but those are expensive, and bad for the environment.

We've been looking for some glass pitchers that have the ability to dispense, but also that had a lid to keep critters out of the water. We purchased some really nice dispensers at a local store for literally half off the purchase price ... but the spigots were very cheap and flimsy plastic. They worked, but we wanted something that didn't feel like it could break off in somebody's hand at any moment.

We purchased this spigot and it works perfectly and fits exceptionally well. While the cheap plastic spigot didn't mention this, the metal ones specifically state to not over tighten. From what I can tell the glass has potential to break if you do.

While the pool has to be closed early this year for repairs, I'm excited for next year's infused waters. It'll be cheaper, better for the environment, and not just "ehh" tasting water!
I couldn't get it adjusted so it wouldn't leak
Amazon CustomerMay 7, 2017
I purchased this stainless-steel spigot as an upgrade for a kombucha brewing vessel. I have tried all sorts of adjustments to try to get it not to leak: others have apparently had success with the combination of this particular glass jar and this spigot, but I did not. Although the washers are beveled on both sides and direction should not matter, I tried them in the original direction as well as reversed (one at a time, then both, in case one washer was the problem and the other was not). I unscrewed and readjusted the lever. I used a wrench (carefully, inside the glass jar) to tighten the nut (and got it tight enough that I had to use a wrench to remove it as well). The best I achieved was a one-drip-per-30-seconds rate. Still, that's not good enough. I fiddled around so long trying to make this work that the return window expired. I've just installed the plastic spigot that came with the jar. Although I will test a while longer, the plastic spigot does not appear to be dripping at all. I'd sure rather be using stainless steel, but I can't start my brew at all when the spigot leaks, so in this case, the plastic one wins.
Excellent product, good value

Excellent product, this was an ideal permanent solution to the cheap plastic valves on most dispensers. Super easy to install, washers come with it, same as if you remove your current valve to replace or for cleaning. I've had this for about a year now, on water dispenser on kitchen counter so it gets used several times a day. Sturdy, no leaks, except when I have brain fade and get distracted and try to turn the handle the wrong way and it doesn't shut off in time, but that's my fault. Doesn't close with a spring like the cheap plastic ones do, you actually have to turn valve to open and close it. I highly recommend it. Was a little pricey, but considering I will probably never have to replace it, it's worth every penny.
Good quality spigot

Very nice and good quality spigot that I bought to use with this water dispenser: New Wave Enviro Porcelain Dispenser with Wood Counter Stand, Blue Striped

Works great. Smooth mechanism. Feels solid and like it will last a long time. See photo.
Pretty high flow rate
Z. ConnollyMarch 26, 2015
Quality, solid construction. Pretty high flow rate. Filled my 5g jug from my almost full 20g brute di aquarium water change reservoir in 3.5 minutes. No leaks and has been outdoor in the sun for a few days. Recommended. Only thing I would ask for is a larger model with an even faster rate. Thanks.
