I got this humidor shearly on its looks. It's a beautiful box and has such sophistication. I can't seem to get it above 66% which is well within an acceptable range for cigars. The lid closes as it should with the swoosh sound. I see a small gap on the sides close to the rear hinge. Don't know if that's the cause of not getting to 70%. Must admit I do open it every day for my daily smoke as well. So far so good. Note- I did season it properly for 2 weeks before started to use.

So This is my second shot at a humidor off amazon, the first one was around $40 and wouldn't hold humidity past 60% but amazon was gread with helping me return the first faulty humidor, they even credited me the cost to package the humidor at UPS. So With that I opted for a little more expensive humidor with a digital hydrometer and jusy got it today. It looks great although the hydrometer is crooked which is why I'm giving it 4 stars, I'd expect for over $100 on a humidor the hydrometer would at least be level. That being said I'm seasoning it now and we'll see how it works.

Yes, this is a budget box. This is a newer review (2015) so have they improved on this, yes and no. "MY" Hydrometer does not fall out like lots of the other reviewers said BUT the humidifier does not stick to the bottom of the door either. So now it takes up space as it is now sitting on the cigar rack. Magnets were a poor choice. And NO you can nor do you want to GLUE it in there as these LIKE THE HYDROMETER have t be replaced at some point. Other than that it's pretty to look at and I HARDLY notice the crack on the door of the case (lol). NOTE: DON'T GLUE YOUR HYDROMETER IN if it falls out PLEASE as you will have to tear this thing apart to replace it WHEN it goes bad.. Yes it is made of wood, VERY thin wood!

I was pretty disappointed when I received this humidor. The handles on the sides have exposed screws that make the box look cheap and your fingers catch on them as well when lifting the box. There was still plastic wrapping around the handles as well that was difficult to remove. The dividers weren't smooth and sanded and most importantly the seal on the lid was no good. Instead of hearing the swoosh when closing the lid, you hear wood slamming on wood. I returned this item right away and will go to an actual online dealer next time.

The 1st shipment of this humidor was damaged and missing pieces, but one call to Amazon fixed the problem without hassle or any additional cost to me. A replacement arrived within 2 days that was in perfect condition. The unit is well built and has a stunning appearance. The Humidor is advertised to hold 125 cigars, but in truth it holds no more than 100. (Less than 100 depending on the humidification system you install). The Spanish cedar interior is flawless and the removable Spanish cedar shelf slides in & out of the unit smoothly. The included hygrometer is useless. It doesn't hold its setting and is very inaccurate. You will need to order a hygrometer if accurate relative humidity readings are important to you. The humidor seals tightly if you use the included key to lock the hinged cover down. All in all, I'm quite pleased with the unit. It's a great value at the Amazon price.
