My daughter was recently diagnosed with Juvenile Absence Epilepsy. We bought this so that at night time she can alert my husband and I if she needs us for anything. We used 3M adhesive strips to attach the button to the headboard of her bed and the receiver is in our room. It has made her feel safer and helped to lessened her anxiety which to us is priceless!

This is my third purchase. The selected ringtone is not what becomes audible when rang. .

Fantastic for use as caregiver call button system!

I have the system set up as a caregiver call Button. As a retired nurse, I know one of the keys to keeping your loved ones out of a long-term care facility is having family support and avoiding things like Falls that can complicate medical conditions. As a former nurse, I also knew exactly what I was looking for and the features that would be most helpful. After reading reviews for darn near two nights, I settled on this system because of some of the additional accessories that are available as well as I would what I would consider a very reasonable cost. I think once a person starts using a system like this, you quickly find that there is a need for other options then simply a wireless doorbell and you don't want to be in a situation where you're having to buy a whole new system as your needs change or you'd like to simply add additional transmitters or receivers to other places in your home. First let me say that the system is actually very easy to set up. It consists of a transmitter, which is essentially your call Button and a receiver that plugs into the wall outlet. It does not run on your Wi-Fi and you need nothing else fancy to make it work, simply an outlet. There is no monitoring fee because the system calls whoever's in the house using a doorbell-like system. So if you're not in the house or wearing their mobile receiver, you would not hear the person call for help. There is no call center that is answering your button. This is the setup we needed so it was perfect for us. Once you understand how to pair the units, it's very easy. First, you select the ringtone that you would like for that particular button to call out. Once you have that selected you quickly push down TOGETHER the volume and ringtone button. Immediately, you push the call button you are trying to pair. That's it! What I did was set all the call buttons that are for general use to the same ringtone - it's super fast because you already know that the receiver is step to the right tone so you simply have to re-push the volume and ringtone button together again and now push the next call button you're looking to pair it with. I then I opted to purchase a separate waterproof outdoor doorbell sold in this system to be used in the shower (remember to place this button low enough that somebody who falls in the shower can still reach it but keep it out of the regular stream of water - it is supposed to be waterproof but let's not test fate!) as well as I also wanted to keep one of the plain call buttons situated in the restroom by the commode. Those two buttons I selected a different ringtone for so that I would know that my mom needed more urgent help. I find this to be incredibly helpful because needing a fresh glass of water is very different than I"'m feeling dizzy in the shower and feel like I might fall! or leaving someone stranded on a toilet for a long period of time. Again, if your pairing the button you'd like to use in the restroom you simply select that new ringtone on the reciever (I selected a much more obnoxious one to really stand out that it's something different!) and when you reach that tone you then simultaneously press down the ringtone and volume button at the same time and within 5 Seconds you need to push the transmitter button that you want to have that ringtone - in my case the waterproof Button as well as a standard call Button. We bought several units with varying numbers of transmitters and receivers based on our quick calculation of need and so it helps to set everything up at the same time. We expanded our set to also include a mobile receiver that I can clip to my waistband so if I walk outside it will ring. The only drawback I can see to a system like this, which is absolutely expected, is that you simply get a tone that tells you your loved one needs help but you don't know what exactly that help is - is it an emergency or is it something simple. This is NOT a shortcoming of system, the system does exactly what it is advertise to do and something that does more is going to cost you a tremendous amount more money. Some advice I can give is that what I have told my mom is hit the button one time if it's just a general need, but if she's really having trouble with something and needs urgent help hold down the button and it will ring constantly until you come in the room or she lets go of it. It's a quick and easy way that you know there's something more urgent going on. It's important to keep in mind that when someone is sick, they don't always have the energy to call out loud enough for help so simply hitting a button is something that they often can manage to do, even if in some distress. I use this system in conjunction with a video baby monitor I bought years ago that allows for two-way talking. This combo has really been a deal-breaker because when my mom hits the button to tell me she needs something and because she's hit the button simply one time, I also know that I don't need to run up the stairs urgently, I can simply walk over to the video monitor, quickly turn the volume up on it and hit the microphone button to call into the room and ask her what she needs. It allows her to have some privacy because the monitor is not on all the time and we have two way communication that way I don't make a trip all the way up the stairs only to find that she needs something from the kitchen. This system does exactly what it says it's going to do and has so far been incredibly reliable. I have receivers on each level of my house and you can set them at different volumes so that your nighttime one in your bedroom might be a lot lower than say the one on the main level of your home during the day. I've heard her every time she's called for help and it really has made me feel quite at ease versus having to keep a baby monitor on all the time which I think no grown adult would want. Currently my mother can cognitively understand the instructions with the call button system and although not tech savvy AT ALL, she understands completely how to use it. I do like that as her disease progresses and she has more difficulties, there are other options with this system. I did actually click into the website of the company directly versus going on Amazon and noticed they have some additional accessories that I was super excited about - although they are currently sold out. There's a neck lanyard that I cannot wait to get back in stock and in the future there looks to be a motion sensor that I could definitely see, as a retired nurse, how helpful this would be to families that might have loved ones that get up in the middle of the night out of bed. They really thought of a lot of things and cover their bases with this system - I would give it five stars for the peace of mind that's giving me alone and I can also see the difference in my mom that she feels very comfortable having the door shut to her bedroom knowing she can still get help if needed. Enabling a loved one to be as independent as possible for as long as possible is critical to their Mental Health but you have to be safe and this system has made me feel safe.
