I have used backup generators for years both while living in the winter snows of Vermont and here in the hurricane prone Hatteras area of North Carolina. Looked at a wide range of generators both for cost and performance. Decided that I was getting to old to depend on a recoil start system. Glad I settled on this multi-fuel electric start unit. Took delivery yesterday and spent about 45 minutes carefully unpacking and reading the set-up instructions. Well packed and arrived in excellent condition.

Added the appropriate oil, connected the battery lead, etc....and it fired right up on the battery. Be aware that the generator has a floating neutral...so be sure to comply with the instructions and properly ground the frame from the terminal on the control panel. Better safe.etc, If it serves me as well as it is built....I won't have any issues.

Arrived boxed very nice, assembly was easy with the supplied tools/instructions. all parts were included including the electrical plugs to wire it up. Only thing that I'm not sure of is it takes a long time to start on propane, It seems that you have to bleed it every time you shut it off and restart it.

I live in S Louisiana. The last fairly sizable hurricane Isaac, we had no power for 10 and boy was that a miserable experience. So I decided a generator would be a great addition to our storm preparations. The Duromax arrived as promised in 5 days in perfect condition. The wheels were a snap to put on and it fired up in 3 or 4 tries using propane. Later that week we altered it from dual fuel to tri fuel because many times there are no services for several days after a medium to large storm. In our area, the natural gas (NA) lines are underground and never has that service been interrupted even after Katrina. But if a large storm were to hit and the NG was shut off for a time, propane is easier to store, does not go stale like gasoline, and will not foul up the carburetor like ethanol. And of course, if gasoline is hard to get after a storm, none ethanol would be nearly impossible to find once your stores were exhausted.
The conversation was a simple matter of installing a copper tube directly through the air filter into the carburetor. We did initially try feeding NG through the propane line but the propane tubing is not of sufficient diameter to delivery enough NG for generator to maintain a load. It took us longer to extend the NG line and quick connect set up than it took to convert the Gen from dual to tri fuel.
We are very please with the product and price. Next project, running lines to back feed through the electrical system so we can run a few important appliances with out the hassle of extension cords.

Great power, runs so nicely and does not use a lot of fuel. I plan to only use propane for this generator ,it ran about twenty hours on 1 20#
propane tank, very happy. I plan to buy 1 more for my other house. TJ

Great Item, Works well and seem to be built well except, The handles at flimsy but could be corrected with a cross bar between the two. The wheel were bent and wobbly. I will replace these with $5.00 wheels from Harbor Freight.
Other than those two simple items, This is a great Generator. Or, time will tell.
