*USE IT AS INTENDED AND THERE ARE NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES* It's a great product, I have three of them

This unit is what it is and operates as intended by the manufacturer. I can walk anywhere in my 1800 square foot home and not lose the connection. 40 watts RMS x 2, and it's the size of a deck of cards. Maybe smaller. Bravo.
A word about the whiners: "It didn't work because I (did everything but use it as intended)". Somebody put it in a metal box, someone else in the ceiling, it's in a cabinet, they want it to automatically connect (it doesn't, so what?), it screeches upon connection (it does, deal with it), the light is too bright (a half inch of electrical tape solves that major issue in two seconds flat), "The inputs aren't marked, whaa whaa whaa!!! (Red is always positive, is that clear enough?), on and on with the infantile noise.

Replaces your old-style brick receivers

This is a very compact product and works very well. It pairs very fast with an iphone bluthtooth (BT). I am driving a Bose speaker set ( a pair of wall-mounted speakers and a base unit). You simply attach the left/right speaker wires to the corresponding left/right hooks in the back of the unit, and you are done. This unit replaces my old stereo receiver that used to drive the same speakers. A nice feature of the unit is that it goes to sleep when not used (to save power) and wakes up very fast when being paired. It also has a volume control.
There are some comments about sparks when attaching the power chord, and also about short BT range. Both are true. However, there is a reason for the spark and the user guide explains how to avoid it. The reason is that the unit is powered by 36 volts power supply which may be needed to drive power hungry speakers (remember that this unit replaces the old-style receiver brick). Regarding the BT range, one has to consider both the sender strength (your phone) and receiver sensitivity (this unit). With middle-aged Apple iPhones I estimate the range should be around 10-12 feet which is OK for most applications.

Good but the Bluetooth range is not great!

I bought it to connect wired Bose outdoor speakers on my deck, which were not being used when I disconnected my Home Theater Receiver and went to a sound bar. I am doing a Bluetooth connection from my Amazon Echo Dot and playing music from Pandora and Spotify to these speakers now. The sound is great. I have noticed though that my iPhone 7 has a problem if I try to take it out on the deck and connect back to the Bluetooth receiver which is in the living room (about 20' away) and outside, instead of from the Echo Dot which is also in the living room. I assume this is a range problem in that the iPhone is too far away from the Bluetooth Receiver. I may try to get a better antenna that has been suggested (TP-Link TL-ANT2408C) to see if this will allow me to also use my iPhone outside on the deck.
I sent it back for replacement from the vendor (not amazon) and the second unit worked like a champ

I bought one of these because my new townhouse has speakers wired into the ceiling above the bathtub, bed (in the master bedroom) and above the sitting area where a sofa would normally go. The wires for all the speakers go to a central location somewhat remote from the speakers themselves. I bought this little amp so I could control the sound while I was near the speakers which requires some form of remote wireless access. The first unit I got didn't work - it wouldn't make or hold the bluetooth connection no matter what I tried. I sent it back for replacement from the vendor (not amazon) and the second unit worked like a champ. Because of concerns about the range, I purchased a larger antenna per recommendations here. I get about 20 ft through a floor with excellent connectivity which is what I need to control the speakers above the bathtub. The sound quality is on par with other bluetooth setups I use. 30W seems enough to drive the small ceiling speakers well.
Good But Could Be Better

Alight I got this to hook up to speakers that are outside while the device sits inside. The wires were drilled though the side of the house so that we could connect our phones through a sliding door. The device then is tucked away into a false ceiling safely inside. So the max distance that this usually has to connect is less then 15' usually only 6'. The bad side is that the Bluetooth receiver is weak. Example is if I stand in-between my phone and the receiver has problems or move beyond 10' it will have bad reception. It's annoying when there is high traffic. I do think that it is pushing through an outer wall which is probably slowing it down a little. Pros it connects fast when it does and the amp can push a lot of power. It sounds great and we only have it at half volume and just leave it tucked away so we can use our phone volumes to contol it on the daily. Overall it is nice but it would be nice if the Bluetooth was stronger.
