I haven't made up any root beer, because this is for gallons and gallons, and I don't have containers like that, and I'm no precision scientist. I just wanted to work up a glass of the stuff in ice every once in a while. So it's still sitting in its tiny little bottle, waiting for me to get it together, and that might never happen.

The root beer taste is spot on, but don't follow instructions on container as it will come out too sweet. Five pounds of sugar to 5 gallons of water is just too sweet. Start with 2# and add more if you need more sweetness.

Made up 4 gallons for a big birthday party. It passed the test on a very picky root beer connoisseur enough that hes purchased it and plans to make a gallon at a time when he wants some. Strong flavor when mixed per directions, doesn't feel watered down. Was great instantly, after an hour it was perfectly carbonated. I would relate it to off the shelf Barq's as far as a similar taste profile- nothing like the low end Mug stuff.
