Not the greatest, Baking soda & water taste better
Techie US reviewer✓ Verified Purchase•July 13, 2018
It's ok, since it's less toxic than other toothpaste. After brushing the tongue & mouth feel like you just brushed with chalk. Baking soda & water taste much better. I got the fluoride-free natural anti plaque & whitening version. If I was blindfolded, I would have never guessed this was spearmint flavored. Hopefully there's a better one out there, but this is the lesser of the gross toothpaste choices out there. I'd rather not have Sodium Laurel Sulphate in my toothpaste, since the tongue is porous & it gets easily absorbed into the body. Also the other ingredients that are in this are Zinc Citrate, Carrageenan, hydrated silica that I'm not thrilled with either. I doubt I'd buy this again, I'll keep looking for a safer toothpaste.
I always thought Tom's was a good brand, but I guess not

After I bought these I found out Tom's has sodium lauryl sulfate which causes canker sores. I always thought Tom's was a good brand, but I guess not. I won't be using any of Tom's products from now on. Do your own research and do a "DuckDuckGo" search of sodium lauryl sulfate.
If you like something really zingy

This is the only kind of affordable toothpaste that does not have formaldehyde it in; that's a real plus! I can only use the anis because I have trouble with mints which are too strong for my tender gums. For awhile I used Sensodyne, but Tom's works just as well for sensitive gums and teeth without the other undesirable side effects and toxins. If you like something really zingy, try the cinnamon, but you have to have tough gums! The anise tastes so good I don't have to rinse my mouth twenty times and, unlike so many other toothpastes, it leaves your gums and teeth fresh with a pleasant aftertaste.
Great taste and feeling!!

I love the licorice taste of this toothpaste! It really cleans my teeth well and gives my mouth a great feeling. Also as an added bonus it is fluoride free which is great because I was a little turned off after doing a little research into what fluoride does to your health. Also, I like the fact that I can clean my mouth with just one go with this toothpaste where as with other brands I need to reapply my toothbrush. If you want to try a healthier toothpaste I recommend starting with one!
Used for years!

I have been using Tom's of Maine toothpaste for years! I first made the switch from other toothpastes because I was concerned about the link between fluoride and thyroid problems. Then, I discovered that fennel toothpaste tastes so, so much better than regular mint toothpaste. If you are concerned about the harmful effects of fluoride and like non-minty toothpaste, then this is the toothpaste for you!
