Significantly reduced calcified cat tartar but there are caveats

After 3 weeks, my cat's hardened tartar is about 70% cleared. I assumed dental cleaning would be needed - but this toothpaste greatly reduced that chance. I brush twice a day after feeding him. I split the amount in half and brush vigorously on the two areas where tartar buildup occurs. My cat's on a raw diet so the tartar is genetic and not due to food.
Bluestem interferes with the reproduction of bacteria that creates plaque along with the biofilms that sustain it. It prevents iron, magnesium, and calcium from staying in your pet's mouth. The issue here is these compounds are vital to your pet's health. Ingesting "food grade" chemicals that interfere with necessary dietary minerals is questionable and begs the question could this create a deficiency.
It's incredibly effective so far. But for long-term use, I have reservations. Will stop using this after 8 weeks - hope the tartar will be completely eliminated by then. For serious tartar issues I recommend this stuff - but for routine health for plaque issues and not tartar, I would go with something that doesn't risk mineral deficiency.

I have a cat that has some gum issues (2 yo) and my other cat just had some plaque (5 yo). We were using another tooth paste and it just didn't seem to be helping. My vet recommended this tooth paste and wow! We brushed with gauze because his gums would bleed so bad and after a few months we were able to switch to a tooth brush with no bleeding gums. The plaque build up is completely gone on the 5 year old cat. We have since moved and switched vets and they are all impressed with their teeth. Both like it so much they will sit there and chew the brush after we are done
