I have tried dozens for different toothpastes in the market. All of them, some more than others, irritated the inside of the mouth, including producing canker sores. Even those toothpastes that are SLS-free would still cause some type of irritation, depending on how often I used them throughout the day. CloSYS has been 100% safe since Day 1, does not cause any irritations, leaves your mouth feeling fresh, and the price is not outrageous. Sure, one can find cheaper brands out there, but cheaper is not necessarily better. Plus the price per ounce is very comparable to most other brands since the CloSYS toothpaste comes in a larger than average tube.
No more mouth ulcers

After years of trying to figure out what was wrong I discovered that sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) in toothpaste causes aphthous ulcers (canker sores) for me. Despite being a naturally derived ingredient my gums do not like this. And unfortunately most toothpastes that are free of this ingredient also lack fluoride. This toothpaste manages to avoid SLS and includes fluoride. I have been using it consistently for over a decade now and I am so happy to avoid the painful ulcers I was having.
