Had High Hopes for this adapter/converter, but no picture and the device itself got very hot to the touch. I am using the VGA Port on a Window 10 Lenovo G560 with no HDMI output. The PC is a 2010 purchase so its not that old. The VGA port on the PC is good as it works with the VGA port on the TV. I was glad I did not plug this adapter/converter into the USB Port on the Lenovo PC itself or it might have blown the USB port due to excessive current draw. I used an external 24W Anker USB power supply to insure adequate power to the device.

Tried several different HDMI male to male cords to verify it was not the HDMI cable. No success. This might be an Amazon Choice, but I am trying another product. Received today and goes back tomorrow. I have a known good HDMI input on the TV so it's not the HDMI input port that's not working. Ordered another manufacturers adapter to see if I can get the laptop to work before I get a new TV next week that has no VGA ports.

One thing that bothered me with regard to the packaging is that the item is shipped in a non factory sealed zip lock bag that had 4 different labels stacked one on top of the other. My guess is that this was returned and recycled in the same easy open non factory sealed bag. Not a big deal but something to note if you purchase from this seller. I purchased this product based on the 1200 reviews. When you drill down however, 12 Percent of the ratings were 1 star which means that at least 150 persons who bothered to write were returning this item due to some high level of dissatisfaction.

UPDATE 21NOV17: Found a solution to this problem and although its Pricey, It is plug and play and worked flawlessly with my Win 10 Pro Pc Lenovo G560 Laptop.

AMENDED:
Changed review to five stars after educating myself to the usage of the product with my computer. It does work fine; the issue was mine in that I did not understand how to get my VGA connection to project to my TV. The seller contacted me and helped resolve the product performance issues. It just requires more effort than using an HDMI connection, but the result is about the same. The product does its job.

I purchased a couple of great refurbished Samsung monitors from Woot, and my work computer only had one DisplayPort and one vga adapter.

That's a problem when the new screens don't have a vga port.

This adapter has worked perfectly...and I am set up better at home than at work. :-)

Works perfectly...got for mom's pc. Now her big screen tv is her monitor..she loves it!! Very easy to install and the supplied 3.5 mm audio jack I hooked to the pc's green audio output in the back of the pc instead of using the pc's headphone output. Also hooked the supplied USB power cable and hooked to an available usb slot on the pc...very happy with this purchase so far!!

This product didn't work for me. Connected from a couple of different laptops to a Samsung TV HDMI input ... TV reports "Mode Not Supported" for all different configurations.
However, product was delivered as promised, and the return was 100% easy peasy.
