Tasty and Easy to Grow
VelmaG•September 2, 2017
Nice and tasty! Grows fast and well, not bitter like some I've grown. I pulled some young for salads and left others to grow larger for vegi taco shells! Will diffidently purchase again. Gave it 4 stars because the slugs also like it too much so I didn't get the crop I wanted. (I'm laughing at myself)
Looking good
Robert Bridell•June 17, 2017
My hydroponic plants started off poorly due to insufficient lighting. But now that they are growing well, the leafs didn't seem to appear to be what I would have expected from the photo of Buttercrunch lettuce, but after getting proper light for a few weeks, it is clearly the lettuce I expected.
Edit note: after a couple months of growth and harvesting, I'm finding that the leafs are well formed but limp - lacking crispness. I think it has to do with the "Kratky" method I'm using to grow them. I end up soaking them in cold water, rinsing them, and leaving them in the fridge for awhile. They are still on the limp side. Again, I think it's just the way I'm growing them. However, I'm going to pursue a "crisper" variety of lettuce after this.

Great seeds!

These are great seeds if you like to grow your own lettuce. You can grow these in a pot or a garden. As far as I can tell, most, if not all of the seeds sprout and will continue sprouting throughout the year when the weather cooperates. Lettuce likes cool weather so it is important to give it enough time to sprout and grow if you live in a warmer climate. I live in the southern part of the US so it is a challenge sometimes with our hot summers. There are a lot of seeds in each package so you will have enough to continuing planting for a long time. I like that I can order these seeds at anytime throughout the year so I am prepared when growing season arrives. It is also nice to be able to find a good variety of seeds. I live in a small town so finding high quality seeds can be difficult. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend this product and seller.
Seems like a scam.

I haven't even tried to grow this yet, but it says in description "IF IT DOESN'T SAY ▲▲ "SOLD BY BGS Supplies" - It's NOT Guaranteed to Grow, and may be shipped from Overseas! Click the "X # new" link below to buy from BGS Supplies USA Seeds!" It shipped from Singapore! Not even sure i'll try these. no labeling on the package and some random safflower seeds included. Should have read the reviews more closely.

I ordered these seeds and they were supposed to arrive on May 3. Several weeks later they asked me for a review and I told them I never received them but would reserve me comment until I received a response. Sure enough I received the Buttercrunch seeds in the mail. They were in a silver envelope the size of a large stamp (picture attached). So I planted the seeds. They grew very nicely. The problem is I have no idea what was growing but it is not Buttercrunch lettuce. It doesn't taste that good either. Buyer beware!! I guess I will go to the nursery and get some lettuce. I don't give a one star very often.
Update October 5, 2016
Okay, I am changing the ratting to 2-stars. The reason I just received a notice in the mail from the Los Angeles CBP indicating that a package was intercepted from Hong Kong indicting the (Prohibited Material Removed and Destroyed) the reason given was (Material not authorized), (Phyto-sanitary certificate mission), Other comment (seeds). The package indicated (Gift)
I assume the (Gift) came from PowerGrow Systems trying to make up for not receiving the Buttercrunch Lettuce as mentioned above. I gave them an additional star for trying to do the right thing even though I would have gotten the seeds just in time for winter.
