This is a heavy duty flute cleaning rod, for sure. Most I've seen are made from aluminum; this one is chromed steel, and quite a bit heavier. That's good, because it means it's not likely to bend as easily by accident, which is the fate of many of the aluminum rods.
My only complaint is that the tuning-notch was rather faint, and didn't go all the way around the rod. I was able to fix this with a scribe, but it should have been done at the factory.
Otherwise, nice sturdy rod. This, and a tuft of microfiber cloth, and your ready to swab the nasties out of your flute.

This is a solid steel rod which, unlike plastic, will not break

I was hoping that the rod would not be too flimsy. I didn't have to worry - the rod is solid steel and will not break. There is no comparison with the plastic swab I had before. There is no reason to pay about the same for plastic when steel is available.
