Bought this fan at the exchange in Japan & it works great in the kitchen/great room. It's summer time & the exchange is out of these but getting ready to purchase another one for the powder room upstairs. It's quiet enough to have it on the highest speed and not have to increase the volume of the TV! UPDATE!! The exchange just got them in so I purchased 2 more. My Japanese bathing room /powder room has no windows so I put one of the fans in there & it's perfect with a strong wind flow that's quiet!

I like the fan, but I noticed that it emits a VERY strong magnetic field (I have a magnetic field meter). It has a much stronger magnetic field than all other fans I've owned. I wonder if it's due to the speed control, maybe it uses a pulse-width-modulation mechanism and that's why? I'm not sure. My 20 inch box fan emits hardly any magnetic field at all. My portable heater fans emit less of a magnetic field and that's even with the heat on! So, if you get this fan, just don't sit/sleep right next to it, keep it at least 6 feet away from your body.

This is a great fan and I would recommend anyone to it. I have ringing in my ears and am normally pretty hot and my wife is the opposite so I buy and try 3-4 fans every year hoping to satisfy both of us. This one finally did it. The modes on it are great. The lowest setting actually produces a lot of air and it is super quiet. Even my wife, who is very sensitive to sound, was really impressed and now we are both happy. The high speed kicks out a lot of air while still much more quiet than all others I have seen. Get it!
