Excellent but installation instructions could be better...

Excellent plug and play unit for the 2013 Toyota Camry SE. The unit looks decent and of high quality but the included installation instructions as well as the video installation instructions that is referenced is not clear. Fortunately there was a installation video of this actual unit that was posted by someone online.

Product came faster than expected. Did all the prep work (ripped the car apart), then installed the unit. My vehicle is a Camry 2014.5 SE, which meant the adapter under the console was right there waiting to be plugged into. I did have to drill an extra hole in the trunk for the video wire (which is covered by the back silver piece with the Toyota logo) I think because I have two lights for my license plate, and the video had one, and drilled a hole in the center (between the 2 lines) of that same piece. Even though you DO NOT have to attach anything to the radio for the SE/XLE models, I found removing the radio (moving it out of the way) it made it easier to fish the connecting wires through. Tested the "lines" on the screen to see where I landed in a lined parking space, and it was dead on!
Just as good as the factory installed version!

Very pleased with this product. The only gripe I have is that there is about a 5 second lag for the video to come on when starting the car. There is no delay when the car is on and you put it into reverse. This is no different with the factory installed version as my neighbors have a hybrid with back up camera and there is no difference.
Installation was ok. If you are not comfortable pulling trim apart this might be more than you are comfortable with and the directions are a little less specific than I would have liked. That being said I had no issues installing and for most DIYers you should have no issues installing. The only issue I had was pulling the trim piece from the rear passenger floor. There is a clip in the front that you have to be very careful not to break. I installed on a SE Sport 2014.

Loved this product!!! Easy to install! I would HIGHLY recommend this product to those owning a camry from 2012-2014 (I own a 2014 SE). Easy install due to factory plugin. A couple of things, one, it comes WITH A PANEL Remover tool. Do not need to buy a kit for it. Second, The video isnt as clear as oem, but it gets the job done. (I will install the ground this weekend to see if it clears up and report back). And third, do not try to insert the wire with the license plate light, drill another seperate hole for the wire. Saves a lot of time from trying to fiddle with the light and cord. I would suggest priming or sealing the hole after drilling it or buy a o ring for it. Dont want to cut your expensive camera wires up!!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
