PURE JUNK

I just sent back the third and last one. The first one showed me in Africa. A kind Amazon user spent the better part of TWO DAY trying to make it work, no joy. I received TWO more replacements, the first one NEVER worked AT ALL. The second only had LED lights for about three minutes, then off. NO support, NO help. JUNK. I'm done wasting my time with this junk....
Go look for anotherone, you can find a better one

The real time following never worked. The SMS responses work, and the kill switch too. But to know where the car is you have to send a text to it and it responds with the coordinates and a Google maps link. It's ok but the live features never worked and there is no support whatsoever. You can find something better
Not bad when it works

I have purchased two units. I did not have a chance to install it until 4 month later.
On the first unit, once I figured out how to use it, I realized there is no GPS signal.
After trying everything I replaced it with a second unit. Now this one works good.
So by all means buy it, and install it right away. If it is broken, return/exchange should not be a problem.
As sugested by other reviews I went with H2O wireless.
Good luck.

it's a great deal to me

Haven't installed it in car yet but placed my SIM card in and powered it on. It came with the battery charged so I was able to test it this way. I used the T-Mobile $3/mo plan since as I understand it, AT&T has shut down their 2G coverage in my area and many others but T-Mobile will be retaining it for an indefinite time. I was able to message the device and got the correct GPS coordinates back.
As long as it keeps working in that basic sense, it's a great deal to me. My friends are impressed that I was able to get such a device for this price and the build quality seems sound. I plan to wire it into my horn, ignition circuit to detect engine starts, and possibly door sensor if I can figure out where that is.
