It's incredible how you can essentially get a LoJack for ~$30 with this little tracker. It does require a SIM card (and thus a data plan), but unlike AirTags it will stay traceable for as long as it has AT&T or Verizon coverage (or similar). Great for use with the car or a suitcase (for domestic flights).

Firstly, I should note that I haven't been able to test this little bugger. I didn't realize it requires it's own SIM card. That said, it's way more advanced than I realized. You can ping it by text message and get a position, record audio, and a bunch of other things. I can't think of anyone I need to track right now, but it's a cool little bit of kit to have in the drawer.
I could see using it to track your car when you lend it out (maybe to a teenage child). It could also be used as a "poor mans" LoJack. I think I'd hardwire power to it so I could "set-it-and-forget-it" if I was using it for something like that.
