We love it. I took it to the range yesterday ...

We needed a dedicated range bag mainly because I got tired of emptying out my go bag every time we went to the range. We love it. I took it to the range yesterday with a 40 cal with it's magazines on one side and a 9mm with it's mags on the other. ( the velcro on the bottom of the gun pouches is a really nice touch btw. keeps them from sliding around.) On the ends I stashed our hearing protectors, Inside the main compartment I had 300 rounds of ammo. I prob could have tripled that because there was tons of room left. This bag has just tons of room. I was a little hesitant in ordering it because it seemed a bit pricey, but now that I have it and have used it, I would def order it again and recommend it to anyone... Well anyone except my ex but that's a different story.
Two pictures. The first shows that even with 400 rounds in the center there is PLENTY of room left over. The second shows the velcro on the bottom of the gun pouch and how it secures it to the bag.( on the left you will see two spent casings, left those so you could see how it attaches.) Again, nice touch there.

Best bang for your buck

I bought this bag as a present for my husband and he loves it! We're new to the shooting scene and wanted to get a bag that we could grow into without being bulky and cumbersome. This bag hits the mark all around! The two main compartments have lockable zippers and eight adjustable velcro dividers which give you the ability to carry multiple types of handguns, as well as gear and ammo. Just as a reference, between the two bigger zippered side pockets you can easily carry 17 double stack magazines or 10 standard 30 round AR clips. I was a little hesitant to buy the bag at first because the advertised pictures made the shoulders straps appear very thin which looked uncomfortable, but the straps are thick like a back pack. This bag definitely is amazing quality for a very good price. We have a seen more expensive bags at stores which do not offer the same flexibility. Look no further this is your new bag!
Really a very nice, very well thought out range bag. Great for 2 pistols, head gear, glasses, and all the ammo, you can carry.

What a great bag! It's made of 600 denier nylon, which is very substantial. This seems to be the industry standard but I can tell you that the bag I purchased at Wally world fell apart under the load of 2 handguns and 400 rounds of ammo. The bag literally tore apart at the seems. I looked at a lot of bags. It was between this one and the blackhawk. I ultimately chose this one because it appeared to have a little more room and I loved the individual gun pouches and all of the magazine holders. I am not a LEO or Military, so I don't need the ability to add-on gear, so this may be a deciding factor for you to go one way or another. All in all, I feel this is the perfect bag for my purposes. 2 pistols and lots of ammo, 8 x 11 targets, ear protection, eye protection, up to 10 magazines and still room for more. Some have complained about the shoulder strap not fitting over their head. I've not needed to use it over my head, but I will say that it is fully adjustable and I could easily get it over my head if need be. I also like the padding. Makes it easy to hold while waiting in line at the range. Oh, and the color. I chose the green because ranges are dirty. I didn't want something that would show dust so easily. Black bags are difficult to keep clean looking. This bag looks new even after a day at the range.
Pros: Heavy nylon up to the task, good color selection, roomy, durable, all sides, top and bottom are padded, all compartments are lockable, lots of separate storage spaces, well padded pistol compartments, nice, unassuming looking bag.
Cons: They could have made the top compartment zipper open with a dual pull (like blackhawk uses) to eliminate the need to always un-wrap the velcro on the handles over that compartment. This is a small issue.

The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because they sent me the wrong color. I like the bag so much that I'm willing to deal with the dark brown color. I can't believe how good the quality of this bag is at the price I got it. I have a couple bags by maxpedition and they're great but the price of this explorer tactical bag was too good to pass up on. You could fit for full-size pistols comfortably in the two pouches they provide you. In previous YouTube videos and reviews the pouches didn't have zippers put the ones I receive do and also of the Oakrow strip on the bottom to secure them in the side pouches of the bag. Each side pouch has plenty of mag pouches. The middle has nice adjustable compartments with durable Velcro and they give you a hardwood floor to support ammunition. The only way now I see to improve this bag is if it had a detachable shoulder strap up and if the shoulder strap were a little longer i'm a big guy 6'4 270lbs and I can't get the shoulder strap over my head to comfortably carry it. Besides that I highly recommend this bag it's an incredible bag at an even more incredible price.
Best Range Bag I've Owned - Expect These Issues Though

I just received this bag, set it up, and took it to the range for the first time. Overall, it's the best range bag I've used. It's extremely durable, you can customize the compartments to fit your gear, and it'll hold a LOT of stuff... mine has 3 pistols, extra mags, glasses and ear muffs, auto loaders, lots of ammo, colored target dots, holsters, and more... and there's still WAY more room. The bag even feels extremely light given the amount of gear in it... my last bag was much smaller and felt much heavier, and it was one of typical "range" style bags. All in all, I'm very happy, but that doesn't mean the bag is perfect.
First, the bag comes "un-assembled." It's not in a million pieces, but all the compartments and other pieces do have to be put together, and mine didn't come with any instructions. It's not the biggest deal, but I did have questions as I was putting it together, such as "is this partition backwards? If it is, will that impact anything later on?" The second issue to be aware of is that the color of my bag doesn't look like it does on Amazon. I ordered the Coyote Tan colorway and it looks more like a dark baby-puke green. It's not the most attractive color, but hey, I'm not using the bag to get laid, so it's not the end of the world... and it's still pretty much a military color. I can't say what the green or black bags look like in real life, but you'll probably happier ordering one of those colors instead of tan. The final and biggest issue is that - if you plan to wear it as a backpack, the straps don't stay firmly in place. Even while I try to slip the two straps around my arms, they frequently get pulled loose from the buckle, rendering it useless as a backpack. I'm going to have to superglue the straps to the buckle or come up with some other fix.
Now that I've given the good and the bad, let me stress that this is by far the best range bag I've owned, and I would buy it again in a heartbeat. With all the extra room, I guess I'll just have to buy more guns to fill it up.
