We bought a house with a non-working fan control of a different brand. This control wasn't an exact match to the bad control, but looked very close, so I decided to give it a try. It seems that all these devices are made alike and sold under different brand names. I thought this wall mounted control would be hard wired to the fan, but it actually works by sending a radio signal to the fan. If your wall control isn't working, the problem could be with the wall control or the receiver in the fan. Working with the receiver can make for an awkward situation if you fan is high off the floor. Plan on getting on a ladder at least 8 feet off the floor if you need to access the receiver. Dip switch settings in the wall control must match settings in the fan receiver. Leave the dip switch settings in your wall control and fan receiver in their original positions and check to see if they match. Initially, set the new wall control dip switches to match the settings on the old wall control. I took pictures with my phone of the settings on the old wall control and the receiver for reference. There are 4 dip switches on each device so if things don't match you only have 16 switch configurations to try to cover all possibilities. Make sure your wall control, receiver and fan have power. Your fan should also work with a hand held control if you match the dip switch settings. This unit has been working great for about a year now. Good luck out there.

Replaced an inoperative 15 year old Ellington ceiling fan wall switch unit. This Fanimation replacement wall switch was the exact same model. All the needed parts were included and the instructions were straightforward. Hard-wired and installed easily in less than 5-minutes. Set the switch-codes the same as old wall switch. The fan, up lights, and down lights now all work like new.
