This stuff is amazing! I would caution new users not to go cheap on the molds, There is something to be said for the higher quality molds, I borrowed a Clair Bowman and purchased an inexpensive one. . . HUGE DIFFERENCE in how they made lace! . . . it appears you get what you pay for in this area.

This was my first experience using sugar dress. I was asked to create a cake with intricate edible lace, so I started researching different brands and techniques. I am so happy I decided to purchase the Sugar Dress. The product was consistent and so easy to work with! This is what I found worked for me, keep in mind I am at a high elevation, so you might need to adjust for your specific altitude.
Heat oven to 175°
Mix
11 tsp water
4 TBSP powder
Mix for 3 to 4 minutes (I just used a wire whisk)
Mix in 1 tsp of the liquid included in the Sugar Dress kit into water and powder mixture
Mix for an additional 2 to 3 minutes
Spread evenly into silicone mold, then place in oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and reapply more of the liquid to fill in any gaps or shrinkage.
Place in oven again for another 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool for 30 to 60 minutes.
Carefully remove the finished Sugar dress from mold.
It was so easy! When I applied the lace to my fondant cake, the fondant was fresh and a bit sticky, so the lace adhered perfectly without needing any royal icing to help it stay.
I made 2 batches of the above recipe and it was enough to get 6 complete lace sections which was the perfect amount for a 12 and 9 inch cake.
I am attaching photos of the entire process along with the finished product. I would highly recommend!
