It fits one ginormous head of romaine or two hearts comfortably. Throw in your lettuce
Michael•December 25, 2016
Do you want extremely clean washed lettuce? Yes? Then buy this thing! It fits one ginormous head of romaine or two hearts comfortably. Throw in your lettuce, fill it with water, swish your bits around, drain the water, spin, and BAM! It spins and stops as if Jesus were a break dancer. I know what you're thinking, "Do I really need a salad spinner?" Stop, quit thinking, and just buy it. I've taken this thing with me on five moves and it has a cherished place in my heart. May you live forever Culina Space Saving Salad Spinner, for no other compares.

Perfect balance makes this bowl spin long after I am done winding it up. I do salad greens in stages to allow for better drying. I even do a stage for other watery vegetables such as the cucumber and olives that lay on top of the final salads. I create salads for the entire week in separate bowls. This product lets me extract as much water as possible. You can always pat or blot dry dark greens further with a paper towel if you want perfection. Removing water and fluffing the greens extend freshness. I really like the wind up handle and hope it will last longer than the push button style. I store this in the shipping box. It stows better in my pantry plus it keeps it clean.
Piece of garbage! We bought this to replace our Xyliss salad ...

Piece of garbage! We bought this to replace our Xyliss salad spinner that lasted nearly 5 years It's officially dead at 10 months! The internal gears are stripped. It was not very long before we needed to start spinning this with kid gloves, as the gears would skip with anything over the slightest increase in pressure. Do not buy this. It is a waste of the plastic compound resources required to make it!
Was great when it worked.

Worked great when it worked. Unfortunately this wasn't for very long. After dismantling the spinner and looking at the gearing inside I can see why it has troubles. In my case the mechanism used to engage the spinner stays collapsed and doesn't spread out to catch the teeth to make it spin. I can actually get it to work if I go back and forth from counter clockwise to clockwise with a short 1/8 revolution motion. It is quite a workout but at least I can get it going. I may just open it up and superglue the catch mechanism so that it just always spins.
Fast and easy clean grapes and berries too!

I purchased this Culinary salad spinner for myself as a Christmas gift. It stayed in its box for a few weeks. I bought it in an attempt to eat more salads. Well, the salad eating hasn't increased much but I will say it works really well for rinsing and spin-drying much more than lettuce! I love to use it when I wash, rinse and spin-dry grapes and berries. I put the fruit into the basket, put the basket in the clear bowl and add water and a bit of soap. I swish the fruit around in the soapy water then pull the basket out and dump the water down the drain. Into the clear bowl the basket goes again with water to rinse any soap residue away. Pull the basket out again, dump the rinse water. (Repeating rinse if necessary). Then the basket goes into the clear bowl for a final time and the lid is added. Crank the handle and then his the stop button. Voila! Clean fruit in little to no time and hardly any effort. Fast and easy!
I know it spins a nice large head of lettuce, or a couple bunches of romaine, or a full head of cabbage very easily too. I just tend to use it for grapes more often than leafy green stuff. ;)
