bought this when my cat was only 8 weeks old and we needed to take a long weekend trip. I was able to secure the cage in the back seat of our SUV (we don't own a small car, but it seems it would be a little bulky for your average sedan) and the 2 netted sides allowed her to see and interact with us. there was enough room to keep a bed and alternate food/water or a small litter box, with room left for her to move around.
now that she is 6 months old, she prefers wandering the car over sitting in the cage but she still has room for her small bed and litter box on our weekend trips. when we do secure her in it, she seldom complains.
I like that this cage can also be brought inside and be used as a shelter for our cat. she plays in it and uses it as a hiding place during play.
we haven't had much use for folding it up and storing it, but that is easy enough to do as needed.
my only complaint, which I have with all pop-up type products, is that it lost its shape... it began to lean after only a few weeks. it's nothing that has stopped her from playing in it, but annoying to look at.

Bought two to move kitties across the country. Used a play area now. Good deal for the price. Holds two kitties...if they get along when stressed.

Perfect for a mid-size or small cat. Our two smaller American Shorthairs (12lbs and ~5 lbs kitten) have plenty of room to lay on the bed we provided together, use the litter pan, and the cage is strong enough to prevent them from ripping through on a 5-day trip.

On the other-hand, your 15-lbs half-Maine Coon was able to start ripping through the mesh. He is a much stronger cat and given enough time, will be able to break out of the cage. In fact, he was able to separate the teeth on the zipper and break out of the cage once on the trip (fortunately, easily fixed and he wasn't able to do that again).

So unless you have a large, strong cat, or you need to stack items on top of it, I would recommend this cage. If you figure out how to fold it together, it doesn't take much storage space and can be setup quickly if needed.

I am so impressed with this! It's really well made, and easy to fold up and store. It seems like they thought of everything. My car seems to like it too! (We haven't gone on our 8 hour car ride yet... I'll let you know)

It's large and spacious. We bought two. One for each of our cats. We didn't think that one would suffice for two cats. Especially since we're driving over 2,000 miles across the country.
