Great patch for real leather car seats!

I purchased this product to repair the leather seat in my truck. I love my truck and when my German Shepard (who is NEVER allowed in the front of my truck!) decided to jump in the drivers seat, tearing a triangular hole in it, I WAS MAD! Made me sick as well. The tear was about 2 1/2" long and in a bottom rear area that flexes a lot when getting in and out. I was not going to be able to look at that tear every time I got in my truck without getting mad, so I initially looked for OEM replacement seat covers. At $200, it was a good option but a lot of work and a bit pricey. I looked at all those patch compounds that make it "good as new", but I just don't buy it. I thought I would do a quick search here for leather patches just to see. Well this was advertised as real leather and my seats are black (so not hard to color match), decent reviews and for the price I was willing to give it a try. I figured my only other option was replacing the entire cover anyway, so only would be out the price of the patch if it didn't work.
I got a big patch with the intention of trimming it to size. The patch is real leather, thick enough to stand up to wear, but flexible enough to contour to the seat. I cut it in such a way that there was adiquit overlap from the tear. The edges are finished nicely on the precut edges, so I placed the edge I cut down in a seem. I cleaned the leather of any oil or dirt, pulled the tear together and applied the patch by simply peeling the backer and rubbing it in to the seat. I am very pleased with the result! The patch sticks very well so get it right the first time. After a couple months the patch has taken on the normal creases in the seat with no sign of wear and absolutely no lifting around the edges. It not magic, you can see the patch when looking for it, but it doesn't look bad at all and it is permanent.

Highly recommended. Recommend spending time cutting patch into adequate shape.

Product is strong, versatile, easy to work with. I used it to patch a tear on a valued black leather couch. Fix is basically unnoticeable so very pleased with the result. Do take your time to measure the shape and angles with which you plan to cut your patch so you don't waste valuable product. I cut an aluminum foil sheet as a prototype of my ideal patch shape first and then overlaid it over the Mastaplasta Patch to cut the most ideal shape for the tear in question.
excellent!

This product has worked miracles for my 2005 Honda Pilot (grey leather interior). I have a huge rip in the driver's seat (8-9 inches) that I have been ignoring because I had no idea how to fix it. I saw this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. I actually bought 2 to cover the rip. The color matches perfectly. Easy to apply. So far it doesn't appear to be lifting off the seat. Highly recommend it.
Perfect fix!

I LOVE THIS PATCH!!! We bought what we thought was quality furniture from Living Spaces, but we were wrong! The pleather started tearing and peeling off and the extra warranty we purchased didn't cover manufactor issues! Anyhow... We bought this patch and it saved the day! I mean... My recliner!! It was easy to "install" and matches the color perfectly.
Looks good and works well

I had a tear that was awkwardly placed in terms of figuring out how to patch and conceal it effectively. I figured the MastaPlasta might do the job while passing off as some sort of decorative brand tag. I was debating between brown or black for my application, and went with black. I think it looks great. Since it's such a weird place for a patch, I might need to glue the bottom down since it doesn't stay stuck, but I think this is just a unique case of my application.
I ignored this product at first cause it didn't occur to me that such a pass could work so gracefully. I could not have been any more wrong. I'm so glad some genius had the idea of MastaPlasta and brought it to market.
